I'm blessed to work a half mile from my front doorstep and double blessed to be in good shape and health. I can walk to work if necessary, though I hardly use any gas at all getting to work and back or running in to town.
I still hate the gas prices and inflation though. We were promised the opposite of this but, unfortunately, the Establishment Swamp won again and got us into more crap that raises the cost of pretty much everything.
My epiphany has been that it really doesn't matter who is "in charge" when the Uniparty Establishment is so deeply entrenched within every nook and cranny of governmental infrastructure. The only thing that changes is the speed at which we roll uncontrollably down the hill.

What an interesting dynamic. The same people who slander the entire oil industry and push "green" energy are complaining about gas prices.
Is it because they suddenly realize the importance of the industry and want more gas for cheaper OR because they are excited about the political implications to the Trump administration?

You've gotten plenty of answers. And this has been covered. But get a Tesla or Ford MachE and any other electric vehicles that work. Mama can commute in the Tesla while daddy takes the kids to soccer practice in a lifted F250 diesel.
If prices stay high, people will come around to this.
I've had a Lightning since 2023 (51,000 miles) and my wife took it a few minutes ago to go to a meeting 18 miles away in town. I haven't filled the Acura in a month.

And fuel prices impact the prices of everything else. Every product we buy has to be moved using fuel. Walmart, Target, Publix, etc. aren’t just eating that cost. They’re passing it on in the prices they charge for those products.

Occasionally I have to stop by Walmart or Publix on the way home to pick up just a few minor things and it’s amazing how quickly I end up spending $40 or $50 just buying needed items.
