Do you acknowledge no commercial shipping can transit the strait without the express permission of the Iranians due to the risks involved?

I do not. That is manifestly untrue. The US got numerous ships through the Strait, including US warships and oil tankers, on many occasions.

You failed the IQ test. The US got ships through; the Iranians got zero ships through, therefore the US had more control of the Strait than the Iranians. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

You realize there are mines all over the strait right now? Iran has many more they can deploy if needed.

You realize those ships weren’t attacked by missiles or drones? Not because the Iranians couldn’t because they decided not to at that time.

You realize no western shipping can currently transit due to the insurance risks inherent with both even with US naval presence?

Getting a handful of ships through with a naval escort when they’re not even being directly attacked isn’t the same as being able to do so at will?

If tomorrow the peace deal falls through and the Iranians send in more mines and say any non Chinese shipping is going to be attacked how does the US open the strait for commercial shipping long term?

You honestly believe Iran was sandbagging for the last 106 days?

A missile launched today is an installation lost forever.

That infrastructure is never getting rebuilt, and in the event that they possess 10% of their previous weaponry, it's not getting rearmed/resupplied.

What? All the intel numbers on their capabilities keep sliding up as time passes. It's almost like we were gaslit about the success of this operation early on.

Ohhh, they could have stopped us from transiting the Strait if they really really wanted to.

Then why didn’t the Iranians do it? You lost the argument. Now you are just spitballing possible ways you could be right.

If the US already believed there was no threat why have they had to repeatedly negotiate cease fires to allow oil to transit?

If the strait were already open as you imply it was already be an established point.

Instead they were getting $1M a ship when they transited. Was Trump just being generous?

For the same reason they didn't go full out to destroy all allied infrastructure such as desalinization plants and we didnt use nukes? Threatening to do something like sink a ship is different than doing it. Once you actually do it the war escalates and you now invite retaliatory escalation during a time when they were getting increasingly better and better peace deals.

You see? You are moving the goal posts. I never said there was no threat. In fact, I clearly stated that the Iranians could prevent the US from getting most shipping through the Strait. You are trying to wiggle off this hook, but you can’t. The issue is too simple:

The US could get some shipping through and could prevent Iran from getting ANY shipping through.
Iran could get no shipping through and could prevent the US from getting most of its shipping through.

Anyone can read that and clearly deduce two things:
1. Neither had control of the Strait.
2. The US had more control of the Strait than did Iran.

But you keep wiggling.
