If government has a policy causing a problem, you kinda can’t solve that problem without government changing that policy, now can you?
Again…if your first inclination is to think that government can fix it, well you’re a fricking liberal. Period. End of discussion.
If you believe that government can, and should, fix whatever grievances you have, You’re a Marxist.
This is why there is very little daylight between hardcore MAGA bros and Bernie Bros.
Just accept it.

I have very limited thoughts on Fishback since I'm not a FL resident, but he explained this in a follow up tweet. Bernie is holding a rally in a typically strong right leaning area, and allegedly there are going to be a lot of disheartened GOP voters there. He's going to assess what is driving them there.
Like Kingbob said, there's some frustration that a lot of Americans are feeling, especially young people. Bernie and the commies are offering a (bad) solution to those issues, but the GOP is ignoring or downplaying them. It's not a winning approach for the GOP.

I believe that government must be changed because it already caused problems. To say that we can’t fix them because any attempt to do so is socialism is just deferring to a f$&ked up status quo caused by previous government actions. You argue that attempting to solve problems just continues the cycle, when not doing anything at all ALSO continues the cycle. You have created a logic loop of surrender.
No, problems can be solved. Governments can do good or bad depending upon who is in charge. Governments are necessary to protect private property rights and solve problems. When government screws up, changing that government to a new one that removes the screwup is the only logical choice.

Isn't Fishback the guy who believed in white replacement theory?
He must be popular here, but not amongst the conservative crowd. He is morre if a MAGA crowd dude.

Randy Fine is a patriot! How dare you disparage that great statesman’s name!

Conservatives would be wise to examine the issues Bernie speaks to and offer conservative solutions to those problems rather than defend a status quo that is not working out. That status quo is driving people towards socialists like Bernie. Ignore people like him at your own peril.
This is what Fishback said he was interested in. He wanted to try to understand what some disenfranchised Republicans see in Bernie 's messaging. Not that he's there to support her or Bernie, but to try to understand the issues.
It's recon work, but there are people like the OP and SDV that are dumb and only see a Rep going to a Bernie supported rally and think he is now a traitor.

No, soft and lazy people, anxious to feed on the milk from the government's teat are those driven towards Bernie. Status quo doesn't move the needle.

Staunch conservatives? No. MAGA RINO's? Yes. Heck, just look at all of the socialist shite that Trump and Vance have been backing with wanting more government controlling everything and giving handouts.

Lazy and soft? 20 years ago, the average rent was less than 1/3 the average wage. Now, it’s half.
People are attracted to populism and socialism because they see their biggest expenses (housing, food, healthcare, higher education, etc) have all exploded in price much faster than inflation (which was already bad enough) and orders of magnitude faster than wages to compensate.
You can pretend it’s just a bunch of entitled blue hairs and broccoli heads, but on average, Zoomers work significantly more hours on average for significantly less disposable income than any generation since The Great Depression. It is harder to find a job out of college right now than any time in living memory. Applicants are sending out more resumes to more jobs while waiting back longer than ever. Yes, it is that bad.
I don’t believe Bernie’s ideas will make things better. I believe that they will make things worse. However, he is at least speaking about the problem while many Republicans (not Trump or Vance to their credit), prefer to just make fun of the people struggling while offering no policy to alleviate their problems. No healthcare overhauls to bring down costs, no zoning or immigration reforms to bring down housing costs, no overhauls of higher ed to bring down tuition, and no regulatory changes to reign in oligarchs outsourcing or h1b’ing away all the jobs and making starting new businesses virtually impossible.
Trump and Vance won because they spoke to these issues. The GOPe lost because they prefer to make fun of people who talk about affordability while actively obfuscating Trump at every turn.

Sick burn!
Who will you fawn over when Donny leaves?
Donny literally said at a rally the other night " I could say anything I want and you will eat it up" - He's right, you're living proof
