The only thing Nixon has tapped into is the low-level thinking of people who are jealous of others and support failed policies.

I realize it's not the point you want to make but I'm responding to Fishback's tweet. There is nothing to learn from attending her rally. He is a plant at worst. Attention whore at best.

No, it’s you magatards that cheered the great BBB that added 2.8 trillion to the debt. It is you that cheered on this stupid involvement in Iran that has only raised inflation and prices. It is only you who drove true
Conservatives from the coalition. It is only you who cheered the breaking of promises by this administration. It is only you who laughed and mocked voters who were disgusted by the picturing of a deeply flawed man as the savior. Congrats. You are one of
The 30 percent who remain.

The house is lost and
The senate hangs in the balance because of you.

I respect Bernie to an extent, and I understand why he has the following he has. Conservatives would be wise to examine the issues Bernie speaks to and offer conservative solutions to those problems rather than defend a status quo that is not working out. That status quo is driving people towards socialists like Bernie. Ignore people like him at your own peril.

On "The Daily Show" Monday night, the liberal comic told self-described democratic socialist Bernie Sanders that Trump is carrying out the Vermont senator's "revolution."

"You could almost make a case that the true inheritor of the Sanders revolution is Trump," Stewart said.

"He is the most socialist president of my lifetime."

"Taking a percentage of companies to do business? That's a Bernie Sanders idea. Doing TrumpRx where the government is involved in selling pharmaceuticals? That's a Bernie Sanders idea."

Then Stewart doubled down.

"Is it frustrating that the thing that you fought for your whole career, Democrats are the ones who run away from scared and Trump has embraced some of it?" he asked.

Quality melt. Completely non-responsive to the question the OP asked. I assume that means you are a Bernie bro.

No but the diehard MAGA bros are definitely simpatico w/ the Bernie Bros.

Both have this very strange predisposition that government can and should solve problems, and that it is the leader of government that makes alll the difference.

Dude wants to see what’s driving young voters and independents to vote. What’s wrong with that?

And let’s be honest, “staunch conservative” is such an ambiguous term in this day and age.

This is true. Both movements represent working class people revolting against their party establishment. Both were attacking NAFTA when no one else was. Both were talking about the opioid epidemic when no one else was. Both were talking about student loans when no one else was.

The reality is that some problems are entirely caused by government, and thus require a government action to solve. A government that fails to solve problems will inevitably be replaced by a government that promises to solve those problems regardless of whether that new government actually has any ability or desire to do so. When a status quo isn’t working for enough people, those people will rally to change that status quo. They will support changes that might not work because it at least gives them a chance at something better while the status quo promises only further decline.

Both Bernie and Trump represent demographics who saw that the status quo in 2015 was a slow but inevitable death of the middle class. The only way to stop politicians like Bernie who propose bad solutions to real problems is to support politicians proposing better solutions to those problems. Maga represents, to the right, an opportunity for better.

So…government creates problem….government creates solution….government creates new problems.

Do yall even listen to yourselves? This Hegelian dialect is the foundation of Marxism.
