Address what, exactly? There has been story after story of companies expanding, plants coming back on line, employment on the rise at historic levels. Healthy markets and economic optimism. Huge liberal Wall Street kingpins like Jamie Dimon think this economy will continue to boom for years.
Did you think all of these problems could be fixed without any side effects whatsoever? If that were true, wouldn't they have been fixed long ago? So some heavily subsidized farmers in Mizzou got burned a little. I really don't care. Do U?

This is one area where I believe Trump is making a mistake. The stock market also believes it because it has been down practically every day since Trump announced the tariffs. For every steel worker these tariffs benefit there is going to be a worker at an automobile plant, a farm implement plant or any other factory that uses steel as a raw material that is going to be negatively affected by this. Economics aren't influenced by who makes a decision they are only influenced by what that decision is. Tariffs have never worked long term and they never will. This has been proven true no matter whether it is a Democrat in the White House applying them or a Republican in the White House applying them.
Also the timing of this is stupid. The full brunt of the tariffs won't be felt in the economic statistics until about three months from now when the third quarter statistics come out. These will be the last statistics to come out before the midterms which will give the Democrats ammunition against Republicans who campaign on the economy. If Trump was absolutely hell bent on doing this he should have waited until after the midterms to roll this out.

Let me give you a little advice, when that happens to you, don't come back to the thread.
Or just admit the truth that he/she/it/ze/xi/pocketlint/%/etc was trying to infer a point that is utter bullshite by using a purposely narrow argument and then when called on it didn't even have the balls to take a stance other than "I was just saying it was happening."
As I posted in my last response, if you're pointing it out then you must see it as a problem. If you see it as a problem then what's the recommendation for a fix?
Not surprisingly the OP hasn't attempted to answer to that question.

Economic theory says those 60 people laid off will end up finding employment in steel industry that is now protected
In theory, the difference between theory and practice is small. In practice, the difference between theory and practice is large.

his supporters said the "real" unemployment rate was really 44%
next we will hear how obamas record regulations helped the economy.

Furthermore, the Obama administration’s job creation statistics are not without controversy. Western Journal reported in Nov. 2015, 95 million Americans were not in the workforce, or were leaving the workforce, a possible result of a large baby boomer population approaching or already into
retirement age.
here are annual GDP numbers
2009: -2.8 percent
2010: 2.5 percent
2011: 1.6 percent
2012: 2.2 percent
2013: 1.7 percent
2014: 2.6 percent
2015: 2.9 percent
2016: 1.5 percent
look at his overall average. 1.5%!
2017: 2.3% and looking up 2.3% so far this year. aiming for 4% eventually.
this is the lowest jobless claim in 44.5 years right now!
LINK
now labor participation is still low 62.7% but not obama record level lows of 62.3% since carter. look it up!

I was just at a procurement forum for refinery projects and the tariffs will certainly postpone or shelve major capital projects.

Did I miss something? Last I checked, every major economic indicator was historically positive. If your goal is to legislate only when there are zero consequences, then you’ll never legislate. What do you think will happen to these farmers when immigration gets fixed? Should we just continue to let illegals pour in?
