Strange because I thought the tariffs weren't going into effect for another 2 weeks.

wow you’re a fricking hack.

Trumps policies are horrible because SOMEONE SOMEWHERE lost their job.

Doesn’t matter if exponentially more people gained work. Or gained a higher level of employment.

Nope. It’s a failure because someone, anyone, lost their job.

You quite literally just said you would call this move a failure of a TRILLION PEOPLE gained employment but ONE person lost their job.

You aren’t worth wasting my breath on. You’re a fricking hack and a joke.

If you’re in favor of a $15/hr minimum wage, the tariffs shouldn’t bother you.

Tariffs are a moving target (and they just started moving). Claiming a net boon or loss right now is nothing more than political-bias-fueled wishful thinking.

Negotiations will need to be finished and new rates finalized for at least 2-3 months before any real impact can begin to be ascertained.

Seriously, that article is like saying the ballgame is over because you lost the coin toss.

Only dumb Trump supporters believe Trump's economy has added 4 million jobs.

Trump's job creation so far is worse than Jimmy Carter's.

I'll help the OP:

quote:

Mid Continent Nail, which employed 500 people in Poplar Bluff until recently, imports steel wire from Mexico. Its orders have dropped by half since Trump applied his 25 percent steel tariff on June 1.

quote:

The company has already laid off 60 people and says it will have to cut 200 more jobs by the end of July “unless something changes very quickly.”

Did you just ignore the news about 500 people getting employed in steel?

The only thing is that jobs eliminated are usually eliminated right away, and job announcements can take years to actually fill the jobs.

Anyway, I really doubt the tariffs are having much of an impact on employment already. I do know someone who lost their job, but i think they are an oddball. They were doing something very specialized - finding the cheapest transit option for soybeans and other crops to china.

I know you Trump supporters don't like it. But the topic of my thread is an absolute fact.

If you disagree, show me specifically what part of my title is incorrect.

Haven't moved any goal posts. I said peop are losing their jobs bc of Trump.

Poliboard says other people obtained jobs.

I simply made the point that that doesn't mean other people didn't lose their job.

This isn't rocket science. You can't point to a single statement that i said that is incorrect.
