your right it was hal lindsey's "late great planet earth" in the 70's and then tim lahaye in the 90's with his left behind books.
they also showed 2 movies at mitchell auditorium "a theif in the night" and 'a distant thunder" dramatizations of the rapture from the 70's.
i'd say half the kids at that school believed we were living in the end times and i graduated in 83.

You guys are the biggest bunch of queens ever. You aren't wrong in that this will all come to an end and we are doing everything to bring it upon ourselves but the "2028 will be the last general election" or "Islam will rule in 20 years" is absurd. Islam is of course a problem for the world but our issues are caused by no accountability Godless liberals. Not all liberals, mind you, but they misguided but sane ones have been commandeered by the losers and lunatics.

The only one remotely close to be actual is this one:

baptist leave a lot of doctrinal positions to local churches some southern baptist churches teach the rapture especially when money gets tight and they preach a revival!
The Baptist Faith and Message, which is the official statement of faith for the SBC, affirms that Jesus Christ will return physically and visibly, but it does not mention or define the "rapture" or a specific end-times timeline.
by the way that is the exact position of the roman catholic church.
