I agree about Congress since they do nothing.
But the average low-level leech isn't making any decisions to hurt you.

Just staying with federal workers - how many decision-makers are in this group, other than Presidential appointees? You want to punish Joe at the Post Office or Mary at the Social Security office (or even Jake who works for the federal judge downtown) because of what happens in D.C.?
That's over a million folks whose fault this also is not (and many are working during these quarantines via telework).

Sure, if they force private businesses to close and they can’t pay their employees, why should state and federal employees get paid for doing nothing
Now if they can actually continue working form home, thats a different story, but they shouldn’t be paid to sit on their asses for unlimited amounts of time.

Yes, this makes a lot of sense. Screw those people over for no real reason. You want to see the economy tank overnight, fed and state govt are the largest employers in the country.

How 'bout this? We could reduce your hours of work from 2 to 1 and your pay in half. Deal?
Federal employees will not lose their jobs and even if some are furloughed, they will eventually receive back pay. Not the same in the private sector.
If the economy contracts 20%, so should government.
