Ukraine and the Iranian conflict are very different.

They aren't all that different. For Ukraine, our European "allies" are largely sitting back while we do most of the heavy lifting. For Iran some of them are apparently cutting side deals just for themselves instead of working with us for the greater good to everyone.

The result is that in both instances our "allies" are willing to let the US do most/all of the hard work while they mostly sit on the sidelines. Don't think for a moment that once we win they won't be back-slapping us as if they were a part of the action all along.

We initiated this one……

Incorrect. This was initiated decades ago, what's happening now is that we are finally responding in a method the Iranian regime understands.

We are bearing witness to a new era in international machinations --- the old rules are gone, new ones are being codified

If true, pull out of NATO and watch it collapse.

Stop it with this 350D chess shite… none of this is planned … Trump is bumbling his way through this as expected.. Hegseth has proven to everyone why you don’t pick a tv personality to head the DOD… they’ve ran out of ideas and are actively crowdsourcing for a solution… frickin ridiculous

This board has lost it’s credibility and entertainment value

Dang these threads with comments above are “ridiculous”

Everyone should get off social media for 6 months

Then comment

If you are aware of pretty recent history, you know that NATO has furnished troops to assist America on multiple occasions.

This current military action(Trump wants to call it an “excursion” ) appears to be a poorly planned operation by the U.S. by choice and is inadequate to kee the Straits open at lest for now…
Trump should have tried to build a coalition in advance as was done with the first Gulf War…

Pull all of our money and weapons from Ukraine and let it fall. They can fight Russia or Islam. It is their choice

Why are you punishing Ukraine? They sent the anti-drone systems and experts that we asked for.

NATO is defensive. No one attacked a NATO nation. Only thing I can come up with.

This is a fricking dumb take.

He is being extremely careful with Russia and China... courting Eastern Europe, Japan, and others outside of traditional alliances. He sees that NATO is unreliable and likely even less so without primary US funding. He's looking to set up a presence in Greenland to fortify defenses in the Arctic (where Europe was traditionally relied upon), to pair with defenses in places like Gitmo, Hawaii, Alaska, and others globally to defend against direct attacks on the homeland. He's wiped out proxies in South America, the Middle East, and is negotiating a free Cuba. The strategy is beyond obvious.

This all makes perfect sense if you don't have your head up AOC's arse.

Its ok, they will need us before we ever need them. I hope we withdraw from NATO and truly let Europe figure out how good they had it having the U.S. military being its defense.

If you’re aware of geopolitical reality, you should know that America or any country is weaker without allies…

Also, why would Europe help us out after he spent the last year treating them worse than our enemies?
Europe is being treated exactly as it deserves. They can pout about it and make it worse, or own it, get over it, and repair the relationship.

You must be talking about the other NATO member nations because you sure as frick aren't talking about the US. The US has MORE than fulfilled its obligations to NATO.

Why is trump begging allies to help the most powerful navy on earth when according to him we've already won?
