Tell me what it would take time to get US refineries setup to replace all of the gasoline that is derived from middle-east oil with domestic and Venezuelan crude oil? Also how much would US oil companies lose profit-wise selling their crude domestically?

Nobody is disputing that, or the evil of the Iranian regime. The question is why did he choose to attack them now? The inevitable bad outcome has been known for decades- the closing of the Strait, the attacks on neighboring counties, anything he does militarily is an escalation with worsening results than the situation that existed before he started bombing.
