I'm old enough to remember Trump campaigning against inflation via lowering energy prices in 2024.

Trump also campaigned on not letting Iran have a nuke. It was literally in his first speech as a candidate and he's been saying it for over 40 years, but you will never admit that.

The news said they cant afford all bills and mostly groceries. Not every town is baller status in the USA.

For context:
Inflation under Biden broke 9%
Inflation just hit 3.8%

That's about on par for the last 50 years.

3.8% in the last 12 months doesn't equate to "Can't afford all bills and most groceries"

Especially if they had never visited a food bank ever.

It doesn't make sense. The gap between never visited a food bank and can't afford all bills and groceries isn't 3.8%.

Story just feels like a shot at Trump.

Of course it doesnt. Because there is no central plan. Its all reactive.

All this started with COVID money and shutdowns. Inflation has never dropped, 3.8% would be prices increasing on top of the previous inflation we have already had.

We havent had deflation yet, so all this means is the USA is becoming more unaffordable.

The single biggest factor is that 80% of our money supply was printed since 2020. Gas prices are a drop in the bucket. Turns out when you print a bunch of money and launder it overseas, inflation skyrockets.

Did they even mention the following YEARLY rates:

2021 - 4.7%
2022 - 8%
2023 - 4.1%
2024 - 2.9%

YEARLY numbers.

So one month under Trump is slightly higher than Biden's BEST year. Yawn.

Oh. And for all the liberal clowns on here. Biden achieved high oil prices SOLELY on energy policy. Trump gas prices are slightly higher than peak Biden with Hormuz closed.

While you think you are taking victory laps you need to realize Biden's energy policies were equal to a ME war. Real nice Clark.

Were there other factors? Sure but if you are going to try and stretch 3.8% into some massive disaster, lets just remember what happened the previous 4 years.

Am I allowed to say that the bulk of the inflation that occurred in the Biden years was driven by the massive cash handouts the Trump admin signed off on during Covid - or is that totally poo poo’ed on this forum

The CARES Act and provisions is your primary culprit. Biden just poured fuel on the fire.

Prices havent gone down, this 3.8 is on top of previous inflation. Republicans will shed possible voters left and right if this isnt stopped

Again, is it credible that at this moment people are moving from never went to a food kitchen to unable to pay their bills solely from inflation this year?

In 12 months 3.8%.

Want to blame covid stimulus agreed, that caused huge spikes that took people out.
