They've been talking about this for years. Thing that worries me is rhinos flipping and going along with dims to really screw some things up.

That would take a lot of rinos. The very first step is getting 2/3rds of the states to even agree to making the convention.
And it's uphill from there.

Would not be constitutional. The proposed measure coming out of the Convention of States needs to be ratified by 3/4 of state legislatures.

The amendment process is a two step process.

Step 1: the proposal or resolution needs to pass 2/3rds of congress OR 2/3rds of the states in a Convention of States.

Step 2: the proposal or resolution needs to pass 3/4ths of state legislatures (38 states) or 3/4th of the states that convene a convention.

The 21st amendment was the only amendment passed by convention of states. The rest were passed by congress and state legislatures.

I'm opposed to Constitutional Convention because the chance of more damage than good. Beside most of what I see here can be taken care of by passing laws.

In California, a Democratic state senator, Scott Wiener, will introduce legislation on Monday that would rescind the state’s seven active calls for a constitutional convention

It's funny how they 100% want something when they have the supermajority, but then they set land speed records in crawfishing the very moment the opponent gains power.

Good for goose apparently =/= good for gander.

At a convention convened to change the document, I don't know why that would ever matter. History is full of evidence that such events absolutely always escape the scope they were intended to cover

Unless, of course, the delegates simply vote on something else entirely.

The Constitution itself was drafted at a convention that was ostensibly supposed to merely amend the Articles of Confederation. The convention didn't have the authority to do what they did. They just did.

Negative. There has never been a convention of the states. The 21st was ratified via individual state conventions as opposed to state legislatures.

the only people
who couldn’t get in board with this would be congressmen.

Term limits for congress. Term limits for the SCOTUS. these could be longer.

I feel like right now we’re are picking justices on both sides based on longevity vs experience and proven track record.

Would require 38 states to ratify any amendments. Republicans only have control of 28 states.

There are many on this forum who claim term limits already exist, it's called elections. Those same people need to go research a little on how much of an advantage incumbents have over their challengers with respect to big donors and political influence. I heard a statistic awhile back that claimed those running for Congressional seats, who are incumbents, win over 70% of their reelections.

Yes, there should be Congressional term limits and strict lobby reform along with tenure limits for every Bureaucratic State Skunk.

I suppose you could add a disclaimer: “This amendment cannot be restricted unlike the other amendments with similar language which are reasonably restricted”

Get rid of the militia wording and add, "all common use ..." and "free to carry and transport."

Heller laid it out for us.

You are forgetting the most important: Repeal the 17th amendment to re-introduce states’ rights into the federal government.
