cartridge refills cost more than the printer
I generally agree, but some are worse than others. HP is the absolute worst because their entire ecosystem is designed around expensive refills and forcing you onto their HP Direct printing. Plus, the wifi printing wouldn't work half the time. We recently went full Office Space on ours and bought a Canon -- which has been great.

Same. Watching on a digital “over the air” antenna here.

Conservative? Have you seen his votes on insurance tort (abuse) reform?

Voting "yes" is a vote for robbing Peter to pay Paul...by your logic.

Correct. Because we’ve voted to overfund Peter — by alot. Now Paul is bankrupt and we’ll be paying one way or another — it’s a matter of how much.

I've had a couple of iPhones as work phones and they honestly seem like antiquated pieces of shite that are difficult to use by comparison

This has been my experience and my family (who've only had iPhones) can't understand my frustration. The ios upgrade to 26 "liquid" whatever did improve it somewhat, although my battery now dies in half the time.

Interesting fact: 53 million back windows are broken each year from people throwing firewood into their truck bed.

Guilty. I learned this the hard way. The load wasn't above window level but a small branch hanging off the truck was enough.

if they need money they either manage better
I think the “manage better” is the Thrive plan. It will mot increase taxes and instead redirect funds to where they are more needed. Voting ‘no’ is a vote against managing better.

He was, but that was a very different time. If he were to see the impact on average Americans and its small towns, I believe he would be aligned with Trump’s view of tariffs—albeit executed in a more principled manner.

He will stick through to the end with the delusion that he somehow fixes this.

I think the writing on the wall is too strong for any delusions of fixing it. Instead, his type will blame everyone around him for the failure: the assistants, the players & NIL, lack of support by the boosters, fans, etc. Thus, he’s entitled to every bit of the buyout.

He's been the quintessential democrat politician

This is the reason. He says like Trump, but hurts our development like a Democrat: Killed insurance reform in favor of plaintiff attorneys; stopped the Mississippi sediment diversion; kills carbon capture injection, etc.

Let's say it rained 20 inches this month. But the month before it rained 10 inches. Wouldn't saying it rained 200% more this month be accurate?
No. In this case, it rained 100% more.

after a natty and the trajectory of the program I wouldn't expect many.

This. And I’m told that TAF hates it because many of these ticket holders are grandfathered in and don’t have to pay TAF fees.
I never knew Sherwood Forest ever had an aquatic club. Where exactly is it?

Also, everyone I know who owns premium demanding Mercedes, puts regular into their tanks, including mechanical engineers.

Yep. As someone said earlier in this thread, modern cars (that call for Premium) can adjust their timing such that regular gas doesn’t pre-detonate and cause engine damage. The trade-off is that this causes the engine to produce less power and/or lower MPG.
quote:

Serious question, in a car that uses regular, would running a tank of premium having cleaning properties owing to the additive packages to make it worthwhile
No, it would be too diluted for one tank to make a difference. If I had that concern, I’d buy a can of Seafoam and pour it in the tank when I’m about 1/4 tank of gas.
Premium tolerates higher compression so it should be used if your engine calls for it. However, using premium in a lower compression engine that calls for 87 octane (“regular”) is a waste of money.

I’m wondering who you think would even have standing in this hypothetical lawsuit?
Good question. Most probably the FCC. Less likely Trump himself, saying that ABC is damaging his reputation and that of his supporters.

Hell, like others have said: it could be that ABC is looking for a reason due to his poor ratings. Or, they could be trying to make a statement in an effort to rebuild their reputation as a politically neutral news broadcaster.

I highly doubt what he said justifies nullifying his contract

He’s been saying very political things for years and you’re right: there’s no basis to fire him for that.

This is different however. Spreading demonstrably false information that exposes ABC to a lawsuit is almost certainly a breach of Kimmel’s contract.

Don’t like the precedent and chilling effect this will create.

Sorta. But the precedent was set long ago with one conservative voice after another being cancelled in both traditional and social media. This more or leas follows the precedent, although most people losing jobs were celebrating someone’s death, which conservatives haven’t done.

Another point related to your precedence comment: Kimmel didn’t celebrate Kirk’s death to my knowledge, so his suspension isn’t due to espousing a political viewpoint. Instead, he is spreading demonstrably false information, which certainly opens them up for a lawsuit and is a legitimate basis for ABC to suspend his employment.

That’s fine. Judge away. Most iPhone users are sheep. There was a time when the iPhone was clearly the better phone but now it’s a relic w/ no real innovation in 5+ years. The user experience is especially bad, requiring two-hand operation, very specific gestures, and extra steps to do basic actions. These days, the android is by far the superior phone.
