Unless you want to go to certain schools. Or (increasingly so) be employed. Or go to dinner in NYC.

Tell that to the 200+ people that are currently hospitalized at UAB. And that's one hospital alone in the state of Alabama
that's the primary level 1 medical facility for the entire state. They are going to have all the serious cases in the state of millions. My mom had the China virus and was sent to uab

Yes. I still don't see how that's my problem however. My problem in the sense of someone thinking I must be forced to have something injected into me that I don't agree with anyway.

Well, mammalian immunity is designed to protect the population at large. If you can't understand the social context of human immunity, then I'm skeptical that you can be convinced.

That assumes death is the only possibility. Your risk of serious infection and or hospitalization is also greatly reduced if you are vaccinated.

The fattest dude I know, who weighs 400+ lbs, doesn't work out, sits at a desk all day, constantly eats garbage, wheezes when he breathes, and sweats walking down the hall to grab another soft drink got it and was fine.

Call that what you will, but that dude should be on a vent right now according to the sky fallers around here. He missed 1 week of work. Covid Sally (fully vaxxed and fully old and fat) that brought it into the building unknowingly? He's back today too.

I'm comfortable with how things are now and I don't need the vaccine.

David likes to read the data. Like where the CDC reports that the typical CV19 death involves (on average) 2.9 serious comorbidities.

So when I'm told by you and Dr Stidham that nearly all the CV19 admits today are all about Covid, I'm wondering where the Covid deaths are coming from.

So Dr Tigerskin, what's the mortality rate for a 45 yo healthy/fit person? See, the problem isn't all the questions us non-medical types are asking. The problem is you guys don't have answers to pretty obvious questions.

60-65% of the state isn't vaccinated. Everyone plays a part into that whether you want to believe it or not. There's a majority in this state that don't want the vaccine due to group think and a lot of people are suffering for it.

By the way, you're not going to be 45 and fit forever. The pandemic isn't going away with our current vaccination rates. The Covid-19 vaccine is going to be a yearly thing for the foreseeable future. There's clearly evidence that getting it decreases your chance of ending up in the hospital.

That has nothing to do with me. I didn't make or support those policies.

I have no link but my daughter is starting nursing school and the head of the school told her that if they were required to give the J&J vaccine that they would NOT mandate their students receive it.

Any idea why?

That doesn’t make sense.

You know the mortality rate for your age grouo. But this isn’t engineering. You can only look backwards and say well that was the 45 year old that needed to be vaccinated and not that one.

Unfortunately, a 57 year old former Independence High and Southern Miss football player passed away yesterday. He didn’t think he needed the vaccine. I don’t know why y’all think we make this shite up

Cool, I know a guy that was the epitome of perfect health that died of COVID. Anecdotes are pointless.

That's your choice imo. Doesn't make the vaccine bad though.

Stop being lazy. Do your own research. The posts are out there. The information is available. It is not our job to spoon feed you knowledge.

Okay, so what has happened to all the people without CV19 that would normally be occupying UAB's ICU?

People are admitted to the ICU's daily that don't have Covid-19. That hasn't changed.

Because they are going off old rumors from when it first came out that have been shown to be nonsense I also don't believe any nursing school is saying things like that, but that's besides the point.

Because you do. Or at least a ton of your industry does.

And I noticed you didn't answer my question. So again - what's the mortality rate for a healthy/fit 45 yo? Why is this so hard?
