While Elon Musk was celebrating last weekend's far-right victory in the German elections, a new documentary about him that warns he is involved in right-wing political parties all over the globe made its world premiere.
First reviews are calling "Musk," director Alex Gibney's four-hour documentary about the world's richest man and one of its most controversial figures, a "damning" and "distressing" look at "power lust and crackpot delusion."
"Musk" made its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on Tuesday, Sept. 8, ahead of its Oct. 16 theatrical release date.
Hours before the premiere, Gibney appeared at a press conference with two of the film's interviewees, Ashley St. Clair, Musk's former girlfriend and mother of one of Musk's children who says she refused a $40 million nondisclosure agreement, and journalist and author Zoë Schiffer. The latter is a UC Berkeley and Stanford alum who has done freelance reporting for the Chronicle.
When asked by a reporter about Musk's post on X congratulating the far-right Alternative for Germany party, or AfD, on its victory in Germany's Saxony-Anhalt state election after final results were announced Monday, Gibney called Musk "very dangerous" to the future of democracy.
The film underscores that point with footage of Musk at an AfD rally in 2024.
"I hope I showed in the film that he's involved in right-wing political parties all over the globe - in Germany, in the United Kingdom, in Brazil, in Turkey - and I think there are a number of reasons for that," Gibney said. "Many of these right-wing governments tend to be more pliable, and it's easier to buy the results you want for administrations that are utterly corrupt and venal and have no sense of restraint or internal checks and balances."

That 1 1/2 hour interview with The Economist and Musk was very interesting.
Musk made a really bold prediction when he said in 5-10 years society will look at fiat money in a completely different manner. Seems like he was indicating some sort of UBI was likely coming as more and more people are displaced by AI, robotics and automation.

- launch, land and relaunch 8 rockets
- roll 23 cybertaxi's off the assembly line
- dig 14 miles of tunnel in 8 different cities
- pass 3.6 terrabytes of internet traffic to un-served remote locations
- restore functional capability to 2 more humans whose bodies were wrecked by accidents
- prepare 1,000 optimus robots to take the assembly line
- father 3 more kids by eccentric women and give them strange names
- and that's quite literally just the start....

Hahahhaha no. Just NO. Almost all of the corruption the last 3 decades as been under leftist regimes. The US included.
And that’s just what’s seen the light of day. Despite the left wing media providing cover and activist judges ruling in ridiculous fashion.
Musk and X has shed light on many things they wanted to keep in the dark.
