Funny how Switzerland and Singapore aren't worried about so-called Chinese domination. Chinese aren't like Europeans, obsessed with slavery, colonizing, invading, etc.

China will be the dominant power regardless but Chinese are smart, hard working, savers and there's over a billion of them.

With that said, allowing cities to become city-states would be ideal solution. Articles of Confederation should've never been ditched.

This. Don't think of states with traditional borders, that's not how the split would be. It'd be city-states with like a co-op between them. Basically it'll be rural split from large cities.

You’re describing the United States as established by the original Constitution. Getting back to that is the answer, not blowing it up

I'm not certain that what you say is accurate. Under the US Constitution, I'm not sure that the individual states had the right, as semi-autonomous provinces, to nullify United States Federal statues and Federal court rulings, as they saw fit, as semi-independent sovereign entities.

Would make more sense to break up some of the states rather than putting all of PA in the NE or all of WA and OR in the PAC.

Oh look. Someone wants to white knight for a Communist country.

Might want to look into your bullshite claim about their slavery practices and tell Taiwan that they don't have to worry about being colonized any time soon.

What are you implying here?

That this will be easier if people self-select ahead of time. And governments with the political incentive to do so might as well plant their respective flags in the ground and get that started.

Leftist states have been doing it for a while. Time for conservative states to do the same and let people elect to live somewhere that makes sense for them and their families. If we get to a point where a split is feasible, it'll make it far more logistically plausible.

Great brisket is better than great pulled pork

Mediocre pulled pork is much better than mediocre brisket

The people of Alaska would not be happy with that map.

Alaska should be able to join the area it chooses.

Overall, 44% of Americans in the South said they would favor seceding from US

For comparison prior to the revolutionary war only like 25% supported breaking away from Britain

It will take quite the police force to stop the raiding parties from the city states.

The new States united in the South and mountain and mid west would absolutely surge economically. With new found control over immigration, a restriction would create labor shortages that drive up low-income wages creating new upward mobility for all of our poors and low skills/educated. Newly-acquired control over industry regulation at the national level would see a liberalization that would create a surge in industry growth and profitability. Hopefully it's coupled with a tightening of international trade, like Trump was doing, that will return manufacturing back home.

The immigration and trade stuff will just have a lot of the industries that are led by people who were already sympathetic to blue state morals to pack up and leave. There’s no incentive for them to stay if they are also going to lose money. No one with a choice likes living in Charlotte or Greenville or Spartanburg or Atlanta. They do it for the cheap labor.

The real solution is for Texas to leave. It’s the only red state that is self-sustaining, followed by a mass exodus of the working class from the rest of America to Texas. That would cripple the American economy and maybe force some soy boys and blue haired girls and their children to starve to death like we want and we’d get independence.

When half the left want to secede because they’re unhappy with fedgov and 70% of the right want to secede for the same reasons just opposite views, the situation is becoming untenable. There are only 2 outcomes, war or peaceful separation.

Instead of all of us going to Texas, why don't we get the soy boys and blue haired girls and their children to leave our states and go to the commie states?

Can you elaborate for me the differences between the two sides that you see as irreconcilable?

I ask because while I see far more hostility between the two sides now than ever before, I actually think the two sides are closer on political philosophy now than they were when I was a kid in the 70s.

But maybe I'm wrong, so I would like to see what I might be missing or not thinking about.

The reality is, as we all anticipate, that once the right/red states go "that sounds great, let's do it" the leftist demands will get more and more poison pill-like because their entire ideology stands in opposition to people choosing autonomy.
