Dems are up for a huge shock when all the farmers in California want to split from them as well.

The westerners would regret it more than we would. Both sides would lose a lot but southern working class republicans would learn to be happy with less while the west coasters would get even poorer and probably more bitter due to their own denial that a non-college working class contributes the majority to society. There would be a lot more starving artist with masters and doctorates wondering why no one wants to pay them a lot of money for their vast sums of theoretical, inapplicable knowledge.

I don't know why some folks get all hot and bothered when someone says the 'S' word. As in secession. I believe most people on both sides (liberal versus conservative, more government versus less government, communist versus capitalist) realize the 'Union' is broken and cannot be fixed.

The Union is dead folks. Eventually, this is going to descend into something very ugly. That is unless we simply acknowledge the fracturing and let the states form their own alliances. There is no longer any mutual agreement on important issues. Stuff like how we vote. Or when does life begin.

Break it up. Seems reasonable to me, and it doesn't have to be a violent divorce either.

Some of the most basic fundamental human rights are the rights of self determination and independence.

And one of the most egregious acts of tyranny is an entity that seeks to destroy with violence and persecution such basic natural rights.

Those are fundamental human truths.
