As in secession. I believe most people on both sides (liberal versus conservative) realize the 'union' is broken and cannot be fixed.

One side erroneously believes themselves to be exponentially smarter than the other side which is comprised of us Neanderthal rubes. One side also is driven by globalist and Marxist ambition, as well, and they aren’t about to turn lose control of all 50 states. Maybe they would change their minds if if they got “smacked in the mouth” by red America a time or two, causing them to realize, “whoa these people are willing to die and are for real,” but that’s unlikely to happen because of our comfort and complacency. Without an “attention gettah,” they won’t even entertain talk of secession, and likely if there were some “attention getting” incidents, they’d just send in the military to obliterate us.

What do these states think will happen when the southern Republican states make drastic cuts to welfare programs and California tries to “love everyone” by expanding social welfare programs?

Talk about a mass exodus. Then these liberal states will finally see why their worldview isn’t sustainable.

They are already getting a dose of it now with the massive homeless populations in California

The idea of splitting the US up "on paper" sounds as good as the concept of communism. The reality is it would be a disaster on an epic level. Everything we hate about other people from race to politics will go right to the top and a civil war would break out that would be devastating.

It won't be like the last one were people put on uniforms and had it out on various battlefields. This one will be door to door. Children, women, old and weak would be among the biggest casualties.

Commerce would end until we have some type of resolution.

The worst...The End of College Football....

Nope, they were polled and said what they think. If it came down to actually doing something, only 15-20% would have the balls to do something. To quote Mike Tyson, "everybody has a plan until they're punched in the mouth."

Ehh, I believe one side realizes the Union is broken and wants to leave while the other side also realizes the Union is broken but intends to subjugate the other side.

I suspect 15-20% is too high, I’m sad to say.

I agree.

I think it would take an overt act on a divisive issue (taking guns) or a serious catastrophe (financial collapse) to create such a scenario.

I think the left knows the first one and are therefore clearly playing a multi front long game on guns. The 2A will be slowly but steadily whittled and chipped away over the course of, say the next 25 years. Then it will be gone.

I think the second one will be the catalyst for the disintegration of this nation. We are speeding toward a cliff edge. It will be bad. When people have lost everything and no longer are afraid of losing their livelihoods because they don’t have any, that will be the moment. I don’t know exactly when that will happen, whether it might be in 10 years or 40 years. But we’ve hit the accelerator to the floor recently and it will happen as we speed up to meet our end.

I agree with the thought, but they’re too greedy to wait that long. If they can continue following the election theft blueprint with impunity, the 2nd A will be abolished before then - like this decade. They’re really just a packed court away from doing it in my estimation.

That area could joined the South and be like our Alaska. Alaska could be our Alaska too.

We really only need to divide into two countries, but there would need to be compromise on the land. The left prefers to live in crowded areas, so they only need part of California and maybe Oregon. Set a date and allow those who want to move there to go and allow those who live there, but who don’t want to live there, to move to our country.

You think a reconfigured north american continent wouldn't still be/regain the #1 superpower in the world again?

Correct, it would not. The United States is more powerful than the sum of its individual parts would be if they were separate.

They would be separate entities—there would be no superpower.

If we had an amicable split here.. you end up with an East German/West German scenario.

What about that arrangement was positive for Germany? Also, notice that they ended up uniting the two. At least you didn’t put forth “Balkanization” as a positive like some idiots here do.

It's pretty simple.

It really isn’t. Nothing about splitting the United States into pieces would be simple in any way.

Didn't parts of Canada want to secede to become part of the US?

The westerners would regret it more than we would. Both sides would lose a lot but southern working class republicans would learn to be happy with less while the west coasters would get even poorer and probably more bitter due to their own denial that a non-college working class contributes

More important would be the possibility of the middle Americans not selling water, fuel, or food to the western Americans.

Let's say succession of American regions happens. You know what comes next?

Blacks in the South cry out that they're oppressed, and other regions invade the South. Again.

I say we cut a deal with Putin and forcibly deport all of the Bolsheviks(democrats, BLM, antifa, sjw's), deadbeat welfare queens, criminals, illegals, and any other undesirable to Siberia. If Putin won't take them, send their arse to Zimbabwe or North Korea. Then establish a moratorium on immigration for 10 years and after that establish the most stringent immigration laws in the world.

I am in favor of creating semi-autonomous provinces or regions that have individual sovereignty enough to decide to be exempt from the United States of America's laws, policies and regulations, as they see fit, including tax laws.
