Well thats selfish.

I would say a southern government would be inclined to provide the utmost automony to the states, otherwise whats the point?

The major factor needed on a 'national' level is military.

Let's say succession of American regions happens. You know what comes next?

Blacks in the South cry out that they're oppressed, and other regions invade the South. Again.

They could migrate to another region, same as the decision conservatives in blue territories would be faced with.

I suggest the India/Pakistan solution.

When borders are drawn, people have the choice of staying or migrating to their preferred homeland.

If you stay after that, sucks to be you.

I agree.

I think it would take an overt act on a divisive issue (taking guns) or a serious catastrophe (financial collapse) to create such a scenario.

I think the left knows the first one and are therefore clearly playing a multi front long game on guns. The 2A will be slowly but steadily whittled and chipped away over the course of, say the next 25 years. Then it will be gone.

I think the second one will be the catalyst for the disintegration of this nation. We are speeding toward a cliff edge. It will be bad. When people have lost everything and no longer are afraid of losing their livelihoods because they don’t have any, that will be the moment. I don’t know exactly when that will happen, whether it might be in 10 years or 40 years. But we’ve hit the accelerator to the floor recently and it will happen as we speed up to meet our end.

Going to be priceless to see their face when they realize that the Great Reset they were working towards isn't the Great Reset they end up getting

The cultures are just too different at this point. I mean the South has yet to understand the superiority of certain things. Whataburger, HEB, and of course brisket being far superior to pulled pork.

Selfish or not, it’s how the movement—collectively—feels. Texans have been pushing for this long before the current political climate.

Texas should always be politically self-governing, culturally distinct, and economically independent. It isn’t about not supporting other similar efforts in other states (we do); it’s that we believe the interests of Texas supersede the interests of all other nations and states.

It’s about what’s best for Texas.

That said, I lift my glass to all people who are finally ready to fight back.

Posted this awhile back. I also said the Connedservatives missed a golden opportunity to jump on the Calxit bandwagon when it was going on.

With that said, allowing cities to become city-states would be ideal solution. Articles of Confederation should've never been ditched.

Indeed

And if any of this could actually be accomplished, that means it was likely done pretty amicably and we could permit transit/relocation provided you meet the specified parameters set out by the destination state.

Leftists would likely, at least initially, object to tourism and transit from the right-leaning state. Their ideology is premised on forcing non-adherents to bend to their will. But eventually it should be like anywhere else. You don't hear the French crying about Chinese or Russian tourists (except for HOW they travel).

My primary concern is that splits by state are only going to get more difficult. Florida is doing great - Desantis is making it increasingly inhospitable for leftists. Texas is still ok, but trouble is on the horizon. Georgia is not in good shape but we'll get a better picture of it in 2022/2024 most likely.

The westerners would regret it more than we would. Both sides would lose a lot but southern working class republicans would learn to be happy with less while the west coasters would get even poorer and probably more bitter due to their own denial that a non-college working class contributes the majority to society. There would be a lot more starving artist with masters and doctorates wondering why no one wants to pay them a lot of money for their vast sums of theoretical, inapplicable knowledge.

I don't know about that. There is a shitload of transient/homeless people out here that look like they're on a permanent camping trip when you see them. They look like they've been living off of the land(and spare change from strangers) for quite awhile.

If pulled pork isn't the bbq of choice in your state, you aren't in the South.

That's why folks like me and Doug Casey don't think secession will happen until after economic crisis/usd default.
