Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns @ Arkansas State Sunbelt Showdown

The road to any real shot for a Sunbelt Championship goes through Jonesboro tonight. ESPN2
We need to redeem ourselves from last year's embarrassing loss.
Geaux Cajuns!

Is this a ULL thread?

Good luck to the Cajuns, any chance they can make a different bowl this year or is it three years to the New Orleans Bowl?

It's evidently what ESPN has decided. Don't care for them, because it seems we always come out flat for them. However, it's how Sunbelt teams get exposure, so our team just has to learn how to play well for them.

NOLA Bowl is best option for our program right now. Gives us a chance to actually make money going to a bowl game, which is what it takes to build athletics these days...greenbacks.

Cajuns by at least a TD. On their way to 10-2.

I can agree with this, UL has brought a huge crowd to NOLA both years, and I'm guessing with it only being 3 hours away it's cheaper on the university, therefore more profit. If UL was to get offered another bowl do you think they'd bring as many fans or does the New Orleans Bowl seem perfect?

You'd have to think Nola bowl would be the best option... Some people probably see the day of that ULL is playing and decide to go to support that team. Won't have that alumni base anywhere else... But I'm sure a short drive somewhere wouldn't take much away... Like shreveport or Memphis or mobile but it wouldn't make sense to go much farther.
Also, is ark st. Any good?

Here's a legitimate question.
What's with the possessiveness, why not just the "Louisiana Ragin Cajuns"? I'm sure that less than a fourth of the state's population actually cares about the team.

We dropped the comma to the top, and brand ourselves as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns now. OP and ESPN didn't get the memo.

1) AR St. has won last 2 SB Championships and has had our number bad both years. Whether they're "good" this season or not, it's a hump we must get over.
2) I think we would travel very well to a place like TX Bowl in Houston, GoDaddy, and even places like St. Petersburg. However, if NOLA offers first, we're not going to pull a LA Tech, at least we'd better not.
3) I think the university actually changed from Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns to Louisiana Ragin Cajuns for athletic branding mumbo-jumbo. I just typed what came into my head. I don't get into the name arguments. Not worth my time and has nothing to do with performances on the field, court or track.

Seriously?!? Y'all's attempt @ branding is hilarious. What next year then?....The decision to rename from USL back in 90's was a very poor one. A much better idea would be to keep USL & change to University of South Louisiana or South La. Instead, y'all are locked in "Billboard Wars" w/ ULM to see who can use "University of Louisiana" the most.

I totally agree with this. As far as branding goes, it worked well for Southern Miss so as to differentiate from the other two major Mississippi schools.

An apostrophe? Damn, this whole time...

"University of Southern Louisiana" actually has a nice ring to it.
