Don't you need to have registration stickers, even if using trolling motor? Just asking, I'm not quite sure about LA laws.

Emotion stealth angler 10ft. I'd love to upgrade but not possible right now. It's fine for catching bass in lakes which is what I primarily do anyway. I added a fish finder and stadium seat which makes it much more comfortable. Caught this nice 5lb ( weighed for you doubters) this morning. [/img]

Hobie PA14

Dave - I'm looking at getting a PA and will test one out in the near future. Do you find the pedaling motion puts pressure on your knees? One of my knees hurts if I run too long/too far and I don't think a test drive would put enough stress on me to see if that's a problem.

Also, do you trailer your PA? It looks like converting a Harbor Freight trailer for the PA is easy.

I would say it puts less pressure on your knees than running. If you can ride a bike, you can work a mirage drive. I think that's safe to say. I just throw mine in back of the truck. I don't trailer it. I used to use a bed extender, but if I load it in front ways I don't think I need it.

The Big Red was my great grandfather's. Love that thing.

I use white 360 light about 3' above my head. I also wear a headlamp that has blink mode that I use to warn others.

Nasty little secret: Some kayak tournament guys want to be camouflage from other kayakers. Several purposely do not run a light in order to slip away in the darkness. They also camo during the day, dont have a flag, etc. I've seen some of the biggest names in the sport do it, then advocate against it the following week. A majority do run lights though, but there are many who dont know to and a few who wont. Unfortunately I think it's only a matter of time before a major incident and then laws/enforcement will change.
