I've got a nucanoe frontier 10. I was looking hard at outbacks until the pursuit came out. I really want to be able to peddle, but I suppose if I never have, I don't know what I'm missing anyway. I really like the rail system how open the nucanoe's are. And there's no way to have it all.
I also can't say enough about nucanoe's customer service. They'll replace anything on them, for free, no questions asked. There aren't that many parts, but I'm hard on equipment.

Nasty little secret: Some kayak tournament guys want to be camouflage from other kayakers. Several purposely do not run a light in order to slip away in the darkness. They also camo during the day, dont have a flag, etc. I've seen some of the biggest names in the sport do it, then advocate against it the following week. A majority do run lights though, but there are many who dont know to and a few who wont. Unfortunately I think it's only a matter of time before a major incident and then laws/enforcement will change.
How is this even legal in a tournament? Seems it should be automatic DQ.

I believe I've posted it here before but both my kayaks are internally wired with red/green LEDs in the front and a plug at the rear for a white light pole. The poles I have now are only 24" so I will soon be swapping them out for something a little higher up(4-5' tall) and will mount flags on them.
AYC is right though, in November I did a tournament at Cypremort Point among the worst fog I've ever seen in my life. The fog never lifted until after noon and probably ~50% of the participants didn't have much for lights/visibility. At one point you couldn't see a kayak that was 100ft from you.

Ascend FS128T. Would have gotten something different, but it was a gift from the in-laws. Sturdy, tracks well and easy to stand on, but it is way too freaking heavy.

I came around a corner in a main canal and him and a buddy was right there casting in the dark, then got pissed at me when I told him to get out of the main canal in the dark or wear a light for boats to see him. made me want to throw a wake a flip him

Hate to say it but as popular as kayak fishing is becoming, it won't be long.
I also had my first run in with an air boat "marsh hopping" the other day. We stood up and waved our arms until they saw us as they were coming through the grass. That could be real dangerous as well, and was really unnecessary as it appeared they were just joy riding. Seemed a bit irresponsible.

Mine and my brother-in-law's. I added an anchor trolley, square hatch, sailing rudder, turbo fins and just bought a Lowrance Elite 4-HDI that will be installed this weekend.
