Why do you think it was ok for that man to kill those boys?
No one has said it was ok.
WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!
People are speculating or giving small pieces of information that may or may not be true.
A couple of posters shared situations that happened to them.
You stated that a defendant must prove innocence.

’m not gonna argue this whole thread but I’ll just say as a criminal defense attorney if a trespasser was shot with a weapon and the shooter was charged the idea that we’d have to prove all the shite your talking about is asinine. I don’t need you on the jury. I just need 1. Not to mention the fact that it was an armed trespasser is enough to get my jury instruction which then shifts the burden back to the state to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that my guy wasn’t in danger. Hell, if the facts are that it was an armed trespasser and the investigation showed that I don’t even put the client on the stand and he’s never crossed.
i don't disagree.
My point was simply to point out that no one wins in these situations and that deescalation is usually the best course of action.
Although i may not have done a good job of explaining myself.

Well you should have actually stated your point instead of posting what you posted.
But still you are still speculating in that deescalation was an option.

This is so bewildering and nonsensical that I cannot even respond. Now you're just Trolling the thread looking to pick a fight. I RA'd.

Crazy duck hunters. I hope the bad guy eats his ducks.

Why is that area so crazy? I’ve never heard of it and not a duck hunter but according to that linked message board that area has a bad reputation for altercations

Word I heard was this isn’t the first time these boys and the shooter had a run in. Not the first time these
boys have been in a blind that they had no right to be in (for years) and the boys drew down on the shooter. Shooter shot in (apparent self defense).
Not saying anything was justified, just saying what I’m hearing from some folks who guide up
There.

because if you can't and i am on the jury, you will be going to jail.
A lot of innocent people can't prove theyre innocent, particularly in a situation like this where the other guy is dead.
Are you saying you would automatically put someone away for life just because the other guy is dead?

Did they kill the shooter?

Local news reporting that the TBI is searching for a local 70 year old man who is considered armed and dangerous.

OBION COUNTY, TN — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is searching for a 70-year-old man in connection to the shooting in Obion County that left two dead Monday morning.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday, the TBI announced that 70-year-old David Vowell is a person of interest in the case. He is considered armed and dangerous. The bureau has confirmed the two people killed in the shooting at Reelfoot Lake are 26-year-old Chance Black and 25-year-old Zachery Grooms, both of Weakley County.

You obviously have no clue how much power a juror has.
Something about that makes my spidey senses tingle. Did you bully the rest of the jurors in some trial to get your way?
Was it mommy or daddy who made you this way?
Can you even get it up without getting violent?

You can't have a private blind on a public lake
Posted on 1/26/21 at 6:37 am to choupiquesushi
From what I understand, the blinds on that lake are private. A lottery is held for the chance to have one out there. So it’s not like down here where any dickhead and can just show up and hunt the blind you built cause he got there first.

I believe it’s a draw at the beginning of the year, you put your name in and the State draws names and they get to pick their blinds and it’s theirs for the year.
Guy is 70 and still at large. I’m assuming he brought a sidearm or rifle to a shotgun fight? One old man outgunned 3 20 year olds with shotguns so assuming he had the upper hand? That other thread some guys think he likely drowned, they found his truck and trailer at the ramp but he’s still missing.
Crazy situation.
