Details coming in, but apparently 3 younger kids were hunting someone else's private blind. The owner showed up and killed 2 of the 3. Supposedly the shooter is still at large.

My first instinct was "put him in the ground."

But I've been pretty irate with trespassers and had guns pointed at me before.

Legally, I wouldn't have been crossing a line to defend myself. Morally...

Sad situation.

I believe, on Reelfoot anyone can hunt any blind, including private, if the blind is not occupied at daylight.

My guess is the kids tried pulling that on the wrong guy’s blind. Though murder over duck hunting is never the answer

Turns out, this may have not been the case afterall

They can kiss all that goodbye if this turns out to be what it looks like.

I don't know what your response is for.

We have issues every year with people driving down a mile of private property and illegally hunting. Cops won't do anything.

So we stop em, explain they are on private property, and send them out.

1 in 10 gets loud and brandishes a weapon.

In louisiana, we would be 100% in the right to respond with lethal force.

***I'm not saying that's what occurred here. I'm saying my own experiences made me check my first response of... Hang him***

So you admit the kids did not break the law but they broke one of your personal rules so you are not sure if they should be murdered but you admit its probably not a good idea.

hold on... word I am getting is this...

Fella whose last name starts with a V.. and is a guide was working ducks.. on the swing they went near another blind.

the kids in the other blind shot at the ducks...

Mr V then went to their blind and shot the kids... one kid that is badly injured and has been airlifted loaded his dead/dying friends into the boat and drove boat to nearby landing... .

per someone there it is beyond chaotic..... THis will give hunters a bad bad name

I hope catahoula doesn't say..."hold my redbull"

Listen closely.
I agree that pointing a gun at anyone with another gun is stupid to the point that you are asking to be shot.

But, you better to be able to prove that a gun was pointed at you because if you can't and i am on the jury, you will be going to jail.

my source says the shooter is now incapacitated. It was blind 58 if that means anything to you folks that know about reelfoot.

There is a lot of conflicting info... the kids may have been in his blind to start the day but moved....

If he was alone. Why not invite them to hunt with him. Be a good steward to young hunters. This is absolutely absurd.
