Texas Outfitter for Youth Hunt
Posted by GITiger66 on 11/2/25 at 9:35 pm
My son (12 yo) really wants to make a hunt out to Texas to see some exotics this year. Ideally he could shoot a ram or cull buck as i have no desire to drop a fortune on trophy fees. this is more for the experience of the trip. He’s killed a few whitetail and is good shot. would appreciate any recs for potential outfitters or ranches to reach out to. thanks.
Crested Butte - Skiing
Posted by GITiger66 on 10/25/25 at 11:19 pm
considering heading to Crested Butte for Mardi gras this year and have a couple of questions. How is the skiing ? we are mostly beginner / intermediates and looking for greens/blues. how is the town scene ? good restaurants that are easy to get to? this would be a family trip (kids are 12 and 15).thanks
Call Aaron Pierce in Leeville.

Pop Up Deer Blinds
Posted by GITiger66 on 9/9/25 at 10:21 am
looking for recs for a couple of pop up ground blinds to hunt with the kids. I see the Tidewe see through ones online, but haven’t had any experience with them. Thanks.
what about NW Arkansas? not a bad drive and beautiful area
Ginos. Digulios is pretty good but more of a place to go to be seen. they also may elect to sit you outside in the gravel almost under the interstate. Not the best atmosphere.

Goolsbys Breakfast sausage. individual frozen pattys. delicious
Dog food
Granola

This comparison basically falls inline to what I have seen. Adding food and drinks takes it up a a fair amount depending on how nice you want to go. Steamboat is pretty cool and seems to fall mostly in the middle cost range.
I visited antigua a few years ago and man what a beautiful place. great food and drink n definitely want to get back there.

re: Columbia River Gorge
Posted by GITiger66 on 6/29/25 at 9:05 pm to Snoop Dawg
thank you. we are currently planning on two nights in the gorge area followed by one night in Klamath falls (to see crater lake) then three nights in the coast. Would you suggest only doing one night in the gorge area? and then adding another night near crater lake ?
Did this trip last summer Try to spend at least one night at the Many Glacier Lodge. We have been to many national parks and the Many Glacier Lodge is pretty spectacular
