re: 2025-2026 Ski Thread
Posted by GITiger66 on 2/21/26 at 10:28 pm to Charter Embers
Got back today from Winter Park. Had steady snow since Tuesday and light crowds. Really liked the chill (non-bougie) vibe of WP. Kids skied really well. Found some great local restaurants. will definitely be back.
The ice fields parkway drive was a highlight of our trip to that area.
Driving in and around Tulum is a breeze. Took Oceans advice and went down last year for a week. Had a great time. The Ruins at Coba were amazing
thanks guys!

Tulum - stay at the Conrad tulum (or one the other great hotels). great did scene. Drive out to Copa to see the ruins, which are really beautiful and cool. could spend some time swimming in the cenotes. Ocean on here is a tulum expert.

Looking at flights out of nola and saw that Frontier was very reasonable…but once you bring a bag, get a seat, use the bathroom, etc the ticket price increased dramatically. anyone have good or bad experience with them. ?

Texas Outfitter for Youth Hunt
Posted by GITiger66 on 11/2/25 at 9:35 pm
My son (12 yo) really wants to make a hunt out to Texas to see some exotics this year. Ideally he could shoot a ram or cull buck as i have no desire to drop a fortune on trophy fees. this is more for the experience of the trip. He’s killed a few whitetail and is good shot. would appreciate any recs for potential outfitters or ranches to reach out to. thanks.

How is the skiing ? we are mostly beginner / intermediates and looking for greens/blues. how is the town scene ? good restaurants that are easy to get to? this would be a family trip (kids are 12 and 15).thanks
