Looking to get new pistol which will primarily be used for carrying around the camp, in the truck sometimes. Thinking a 9 because I already have a Baretta 92 that is too nice (and heavy) to carry all of the time. Thinking something similar to a XD but maybe better priced. Haven’t looked at pistols in a while. Thanks

I really like my Glock 19 gen 5. I find myself carrying it often even though I have a P365 and a shield plus. It also serves as nightstand duty at night. There are other great options to consider but I’d take a look at that one to see what you think.

You can get a shield at academy for around 300 with a $50 gift card several times a year.

Nice gun. Goes bang. Perfect for a truck or lease pistol.

Truthfully at the lease I usually carry my revolver. I like it. Carry 38+p in it with snake shot every other round.

Good for hogs and snakes.

I love my two Caniks. Smooth triggers, good prices, they go bang.

If you're not going to conceal carry, I'd go full size 9 mm. No better deal out there than the Walther Creed.

I just found out they're hard to find, but the Walther site has them for $309.

I got mine from cdnnsports.com for $350.00, but they are out of stock there.

That new Beretta is awesome, and by far the cheapest option on the market right now for an extremely high quality pistol. Supposedly did 10K for Brazilian military tests without a single malfunction.

Just came out and can be had for about $400 at . 17 Rd capacity. And mags are only about $20.

Comes w/ Optics slide and night sight

You shot the new one yet?

Just wondering how the trigger is and how much, if at all, it is different than the original APX model. Seen mixed reviews, with some saying they're fine and some saying they're too heavy at 6+ lbs. Beretta, though, claims the new one has a 4.5 lb trigger, so who knows.

From everything else I see of the new model, it looks every bit as God (or better) than the big Sig... But likely more reliable and almost half the cost.

I didnt even know they made a new one. Trigger in mine is fantastic, i believe i had changed some springs to lessen it.

Looked at some reviews on the new ones and the one thing just looking at it that i dislike is the grip. I feel the original grip was more ergonomical. I have smaller hands and the original fits me perfect. Id like to shoot one to see if it works for me as well as the original.

I bought an Apex a few years ago and I haven’t shot it in a couple years. Picked up the M&P 2.0 and VP 9 around the same time and lean towards the VP 9 over the other 2.

My vote would be for the FN FNS9c

It’s made by FN so it’s a quality gun. It’s compact but still concealable. Magazines can hold 10, 12, or 17 rounds. Phenomenal firearm

Best 400.00 you will spend. EXTREMELY accurate and consistent. I love mine. I carry it daily and it doubles as my nightstand gun

Shield is really nice to shoot. Very accurate. More accurate than Glock 43.

I got a SAR9 a few months ago. Fun to shoot and pretty damn accurate.

To the OP - it's going to come down to what you plan to do with the gun. A full size beats out a smaller pistol in every single category except portability. So if you just want a polymer full size, any good choice from a reputable manufacturer will suit you fine. If you'd prefer to get something a bit smaller, one of the slimmer options on the market now may be better for concealed carry (if you'd want to do that as well).

As an owner of an FNS9 full size, it is an excellent handgun but the FN509 is basically an improved version of it. I would recommend the 509 over the original.

The good news is you can't go wrong. It's a great time to be in the market for a new handgun.

Personally I recommend the 365, 365xl, and the Walther PDP full size.
