broke, at the range have her use both the foam ear protection and a headset

you might also try a .410 and some clay pigeons and try to make it more fun for her

Not trying to pile on, but a .22LR semi-auto rifle is the best gun ever to introduce a new shooter to the sport. Hands down.

3 pages and no one's mentioned the fact that Mrs. Broke's lopsided boob job is throwing off her balance, thus resulting in the uncomfortable feeling she's getting when shooting?

Seriously, if you're in the northshore area, I'd gladly let yall shoot my .22 rifle at Honey Island one weekend.

Show her the video of the thug beating the woman almost to death in her own home in New Jersey. It's easy for women to be against shooting when they have an emotional detachment to dangerous things. They don't feel they can "control" these dangerous things until it is introduced to them in baby steps, as one poster mentioned.

A tiny 380 has way too much felt recoil and is too small. If you have a full sized 9mm or 45, that would be better. 40 gives a bit more felt recoil but is still controllable.

And as stated, a 22 is the best place to start.

"Tiny guns suck to shoot. For everyone. "

This. My wife and I have little Kel-tec .380s that are NOT fun to shoot. When we qualified for thw CC permit we took the KTs and shot each 5 shots, then got my .22 S&W with 10 shot clip and had a ball.

She shot a .40 and hates it too. It's full size.

Notice I didn't say .40, I said 9/45.

Also, when putting her on the 22, don't be forceful or she'll never like any of them.

"Hey, the guys on the OB said I started you on the wrong gun. wanna go to the range and try wick's .22? They think you will like it much better."

Some gun owners think that the terminology is very important. While we all know what you meant, you won't be scorned as much if you follow this

the loud noise. She thinks she would be more comfortable shooting outside.

My woman agrees. She much prefers to shoot ouside informally; hates the indoor range. Hell I like it better outside too.

+1

Besides the general enjoyment of being outside, the sound doesn't reverberate as much and the powder smoke doesn't make you cough up a lung.

Every time I leave an indoor range I have a funky taste in my throat from inhaling all the junk in the air.

Two options:

Or

Just keep her out of the firearm area, which she agrees to let you have as your personal space, and everything should smooth over. If it escalates and she ends up wanting the guns out of the house then find someone new...unless you really love her. Then it's time for a hidden, underground gun vault to keep her.
