The lighter of the 2 parts, would fly away at a damaging, possibly fatal, speed

Without being in a chamber to build pressure, the case reaching a fatal speed is impossible. At the moment the bullet comes unseated from the casing, the burning powder is free to disperse in all directions instead of being forced in one direction down a barrel. Will it hurt if it hits you from a close range? Sure, but no way would it be fatal. Bruising and/or a minor cut at worse.

Without being shot through a barrel, it's basically a firecracker.

Basically. Without a chamber to direct the exit of the expanding gasses from the gunpowder explosion, the projectile - being the heaviest component in a bullet - will stay pretty much still and the bullet casing will fly off in the opposite direction from the projectile. The case could cause some bruising if it hits you from a very close range but that's about it.

In the video you posted, the projectiles are traveling forward because the base of casing is held firm to the barrel of the bb gun. So the bullet is forced to go forward until it clears the casing and then there is no more force behind it.

Working at an outdoor shooting range, we have this happen all the time in winter when we're burning fires in our burn barrels for heat and sometimes an un-spent round gets thrown into the barrels by shooters thinking it's a trash can.. It's just a loud pop. Scares you more than anything else.

The SAR9's are great guns. I've had a SAR9C for a year now and love it.

PSA has one on sale right now too.

I went last year and it was great! Looking forward to year two!

Super cheap considering local shop wanted 125/tire.

I found the same thing around where I live in Ponchatoula. 3 shops all quoted me over $100 each.

Thing is I can’t figure out how to schedule it online. How do you schedule it?

You have to call the auto dept to schedule. Or go in there.

Go to Walmart. Seriously. $30 each installed.

Just had all 4 done on my 2016 F150. 3 of mine failed within 2 weeks after 9 years.

I upgraded just from the 16 Pro Max and it’s noticeably faster

It was crazy how quick I was switching through games on ESPN app Saturday.

I upgraded from the same to the 17 Pro Max. First thing I noticed was how fast it switched between apps and the transitions were flawless. Speed is amazing on it. Second thing I noticed is camera image quality, especially on the front facing cam. Lastly, the battery is lasting me a couple extra hours.
Fed Ex just dropped my Pro Max off... Here we go!!!

Oh my! This one is delicious! This limited run has been sold out for quite a while but I just opened one tonight.

Funny story about it... I went to Gnarly for a sip or two and went home with 2 bottles from the cooler... Then a few weeks later I went back for a sip or two and went home with 2 more... Totally oblivious to the fact I bought the 2 a few weeks before...

I sure am glad to have 4...errr...now 3 bottles of this.

looks like the railroad tracks running along HWY 51 are closed, too?

I saw a news report yesterday that was taken from an angle that showed a train rolling by as the fire was blazing. I don't think they closed the tracks. Just the roadways.
As I mentioned in my post on page 2, I used to work there. I spoke to someone yesterday who was still working there and he told me where it started.

I posted this pic earlier as well showing that.

am just curious. Hopefully no one was injured.

From someone I know who works there, everyone got out. No injuries.
See my post on the 2nd page here. I list out many of the products made there.

Several fuels and highly flammable chemicals like starter fluid(ether) and brake cleaner. Even premixed 2 stroke fuels.

Plus all the other oils and chemicals.

unless it spread to other tanks or warehouses.

Unless??? Every structure on that property either had packaging lines, finished product, or packaging materials, all highly flammable. By morning I'd imagine every building will be leveled. Here's the facility before... Notice where I marked it started, from what I was told.

Here's what it looks like as of 2 hours ago... (Notice the admin building in the bottom right of each pic)

I'm hearing they were self-insured...

:wha: :wha: :dope: :dope:

Based on public records, they have 2-3 reportable spills that make it off site per year for a variety of chemicals.

Fox8 news reported earlier that they have had significant EPA violations every quarter for the past 12 STRAIGHT QUARTERS.

While EPA violations don't cause what happens today, it shows the lackadaisical attitude of management and ownership there.
I worked there from 2021-2023. When I went for my interview and they gave me a tour the only thing that kept going through my mind was "how has OSHA not shut this place down yet?" but I needed a job and they paid pretty well so I agreed to their offer.

That facility makes every kind of oil and lube you can think of as well as transmission, brake and power steering fluids, hydraulic oils, anti freeze, DEF, brake cleaner and carb cleaner, windshield wiper fluid and even fuel based products like pre-mixed 2-cycle fuels and starting fluid.

The 1.5-ish years I worked there, there were several discharges into the local ditches that got into the Tangipahoa River at least once.

All day today, I just kept telling people "I'm not surprised this happened. I'm surprised it took this long to happen."

I spoke to someone I still know who works there and everyone was able to get out of the facility before it spread too badly. So I'm thankful for that and praying for everyone who lost their livelihoods.

They also had their own on-site injection and blow-molding facility to make all their own bottles. So on top of the lubricants and chemicals they also had the plastic. Not to mention all the finished product on wooden pallets that was in the warehouses waiting to be shipped. The videos I've seen posted online around 4pm of explosions were the fuel plant tanks blowing up.

The place is going to be a total loss and won't be over until it's burned everything completely to the ground.
FYI it also has a 15% off coupon on it right now for a total of $43.20 off.

It's a no brainer to give it a try, especially since the one I've had for 4 years is no longer able to read SD cards...

This is the sole reason I originally got my CHP and the primary reason I will continue to renew it.

For some reason, I always get delayed whenever I don't use my CHP for my background check.
