LSU 72 grad here.
I was at the LSU- Ole Miss game in 72. Words are hard to come by describing that final drive.
Years later after Bert Jones retired from the NFL, I met him at a dove hunt near Bernice, La. We talked about that game and the drive and he told me that was the most fun he had in his football career.

Ole Miss 72 for me and Byrd/ Auburn.
One thing about the OM game is how fast all the Rebel flags in the SEZ disappeared after the winning TD.

My wife was outside working in her flower beds. I was inside with my younger son watching that abomination.
I was yelling bad words so loud that a neighbor came over sort of scared and asked if everything was OK.
My wife told her , “ LSU must be losing.”
My son, who was a LA Tech student, was laughing.
He couldn’t believe what was happening.
The thing is, the neighbor’s house was probably 150 yards from ours.

A guy next to my friends’s lease in Cotilla Tx. Did the same Thing put, a tripod feeder on the line. Actually one of the pods was over the line. We just started hauling all the hog and deer carcasses right to his feeder.
We went to Alaska in 2004. We spent one night in Homer. Supposed to go halibut fishing but captain called, early and said I have a 35 ‘ boat and 10’ seas. We said it almost at the same time” We ain’t going fishing today. “
We stayed at a little motel on the beach and that morning there were probably 20-30 eagles feeding on fish on the beach. I’m pretty sure if they eat dead fish , they eat carrion too.

In less than a year , I lost a younger brother and younger sister.
I cannot imagine losing a child or grandchild.

I have seen one from a deer stand in about 1973 near Mansfield, La. It was near the base of the tree I was in. I had to walk right near it.
Worked in the woods and hunted most of my life.
