I could baiting, but I dont know how youd ban food plots. I guess if there is no equipment or attempt to harvest what is planted.
Oh, ban box stands, too. All stands actually.

Dog hunting should be illegal
I despise dog hunting, but it shouldn't be illegal. Hunt dogs all you want on your own property.
But there definitely needs to be more protection for landowners that don't want dogs on their property.
Too many times I've dealt with dog hunters all over our property with the "dogs can't see property boundary" attitude

They are in the minority. Like I said “MOST”.
I used to supply some of these camps around here with deer dogs in the fall. Most were foxhounds that couldn’t make the grade. Then I found out some of the camps would shoot all their dogs at the end of deer season rather than feed and care for them all year. So I stopped. Nobody hunts digs around here anymore, anyway. They’re afraid the dogs will chase THEIR deer onto somebody else’s lease and get killed there.

There's probably a correlation between baiting and CWD spread.
The worst part about my club is we don't dog hunt anymore. Congratulations anti's, you'll get your way eventually.

The end to sport hunting as we know it in the US will start with bann less popular forms of hunting, because they irritate some hunters.
Banning dog hunting will be the first chink in the armor

White bear,
I’m a land owner that dislikes dog hunting, but it’s legal. Since it’s legal, then I have no problem with you dog hunting on your property or hunting club.
My problem is when the dog hunters release their dogs 200-300 yds from my property line to dog hunt 20 acres. Guess what happens: that’s right, the dogs end up on my property. It then ruins my hunt because of the pressure the dogs put on the deer. All while the owner of the dogs drives around and parks on the opposite side of my property. The dumba$$ pulled on my driveway up to my gate. He at least stopped there, but didn’t pay attention to the 2 no trespassing signs he drove right by.
That’s the dog hunter violating my rights as a land owner. When has a land owner planting food plots or using feeders on his property ever violated your rights on your property?
PS - I have food plots and feeders. I also have shooting houses over these areas. Since you are so concerned with what I do on the property that I worked my a$$ off to purchase, Do you know why I have them?
I have them so my grandson can go sit with his dad on a stand and be a part of the hunt. I also have them so my 73 yr old Dad can still get on a stand and hunt.
I also spent about 200 hours this year working on native habitat restoration. I’m guessing you think that’s wrong to help promote quality habitat and forage for the deer.

We’d have the occasional pack of dogs come thru from the neighbors. It was exciting for a young hunter. Then I got focused on killing bigger deer and felt like the dogs made hunting poorer. About 15 yrs ago, the dog hunters dried up. We had 5 years of outstanding hunting. Then neighbors moved in that bait like crazy. The hunting in our pretty little spot in NW Jefferson county is the worst it’s been in my 40 years. No lie.
I’d take the dogs back in a heartbeat. I just want some small modicum of daytime movement.

They look too good to be a pack of deer dogs, although I guess they are. They look more like a pack of foxhounds. Most deer dogs don’t look near that good.
Those look like foxhounds to me, too. My grandfather had 20+ when I was growing up. He and his buddies would let them run at night and could tell by the barks what dogs were running lead. They'd sit on the tailgate of their trucks and drink whiskey while listening to the dogs bark. They would call the dogs back to the truck with a horn literally made from a bull's horn. It was fasinating when I was 6.

If it's on your land and it's legal the whatever but I hardly call that hunting.

I don't dog hunt. I don't hunt over food of any kind. I hunt with bows I build myself without sights.
But I do not support banning dogs or feeding deer.
I do support the right of landowners or those who lease to shoot dogs (and poachers) who invade their property.
Call me old-school.

I don’t care for dog hunting. But it’s absolutely a tradition that should be kept alive. And the people who are dog hunters need to do a better job at preserving their heritage. There are bad dog hunters who are ruining it for everyone.
My lease is surrounded by dog runners. One side of the lease, their dogs are always on our property multiple times a week. And their dogs have to cross a river to get there. The other side of the lease have some awesome dog hunters, they almost always catch their dogs before they cross into our side. Maybe had to retrieve them once or twice a season. They are setting the example of what dog hunting should be.
With todays technology of gps collars, there is no reason to not be able to stop your dogs pretty quickly.

Yeah. We don’t use big dogs so we can keep up and not let them off our property. We use tracking collars so we know exactly where they are and where to catch them before they disturb neighbors.
