D&D coolers on Facebook. A business based out of Zachary La. They sell them locally in Zachary, Clinton, St Francisville..etc Very similar to the colorless coolers.

Just bought one to keep in truck bed. Glad to see the good reports. Seems like a solid little chest at decent price.

For a 1 day tailgate, I would think decent Non-Yeti style with wheels would be perfectly adequate. For an over night or several day camping trip you might justify a rotomolded unit, but if you have access to ice at the guard shack; I'd still go with something light weight. Ice is cheap.

The top has measuring capability. That's why I chose it as my dead-well.

Igloo BMX or the magellan rotomolded from academy.

I don't need it to be bear proof or keep ice for month, I just need it to have good hinges, handles, and drains. Both of those mentioned have that.

Yeah those Yetis and knockoffs are just too heavy to deal with most of the time. I have used mine once or twice but use a lightweight Coleman and Igloo frequently. I like Igloo because I can generally buy replace hinges and latches.

A few years ago, I purchased some from a guy on a message board. Came in different sizes and Colors. Met a bunch of TDer’s at some random warehouse in BR. I’ve been very pleased!

Lifetime coolers have been mentioned a few times, they are SOLID.

I hate to admit this, but I had a 55qt lifetime fly out of my boat, I just had it bungied and not strapped, well the lid flew up, I am sure I forgot to latch it, and it just sailed out of my boat hitting the interstate then the guard rail going 70mph... I am glad it was early morning and nobody was on the road. Once the cooler lid started acting like a sail it just ripped my bungie, and it was a pretty solid bungie cord, it wasn't a cheap on.

Well, the only damaged are some scuffs, not scratches scuff marks. I stand on my 77qt when fishing, it is just as solid as the deck. You can look online for the ice tests, it holds ice ALMOST as good as YETI but it is 25% the price. I don't care that it isn't rotomolded and I don't care it does not have a flashy name, they just work.

I have a colorless cooler and a D&D. They are the EXACT same. clearly D&D piggy-backed and just slapped a sticker on theirs. Fine by me. Especially since he offered colored options.

What activities do you want to bring the ice chest along for?

Tailgating and camping mostly. I do have one of the cubes and its ok, pretty bulky and the lid never stays on. I dont need a Yeti but would like that type of cooler.

Mainly just curious where the best deals can be had. If the answer is Ozark from Walmart Im good with that.

I quit dealing with ice and stepped up to a 12v fridge for camping. I've got a 75qt dual zone dometic and can get 5 days worth of perishables for a family of four in it.

Switching up to making ice blocks as opposed to using cubes will help with a non yeti or yeti style cooler as well.

I mix some larger frozen plastic water bottles and some blocks made with Tupperware that fit perfect to my non yeti style cooler that gets me several days on the lighter models.

Do the same with my boats built in coolers. Have Tupperware to make blocks that last several days when down at the beach for a week.

Been in the market myself for a wheeled version.

Liked this girl's review LINK. Most manufacturers use the same models and just rebrand.

Academy has Magellan Coolers on sale.

75-qt-wheeled-cooler

Get pretty high marks compared to the higher end ones like Yeti.

This Coleman is probably a good option under $100.

A family member sent me one of those right after Michael hit, a 75 qt. It’s a great cooler, doesn’t leak, and it’s stayed outside a long time and never warped or anything.

But it’s heavy. All those rotomolded coolers are heavy as hell. I like it, but if I don’t need the ice retention I find myself grabbing my big marine igloo. It has real hinges and it’s a lot easier to toss in the truck.

I've had the Coleman Xtreme wheeled that Nole Man linked above for 13+ years. I bring it in the house to cool off prior to the day we are using it and have never had an issue with it not holding ice well. I've never had to replace any parts on it either.

That said, I bought a smaller version of it last month and can tell you that it is made much cheaper than the larger one I bought 13+ years ago. Not sure if that is because it is a smaller model or if they've moved to cheaper materials.

I have a couple of Igloo IMX that so far seem really good. Also have a couple of Lifetime brand from Walmart that hold up pretty well but I can tell they aren't as sturdy. Also have an Ozark Trail soft cooler that has been my go to for day trips for a few years. It's starting to look its age. Let's see I have a small maybe 25 qt Igloo that came from Sams. It had cruddy plastic handle that broke probably the 1st year but the rest of it has been pretty solid.

I'd say the Igloo IMX is the best of those. The IMX 24 were about $185 each and the IMX 70 were $325. That was with company logo stuff added.
