Can someone recommend a good ice chest? I'm aware I can go to the local Academy and look, but I remember awhile back folks finding some good deals on the new style coolers. Something with wheels would be preferable but not a necessity.
There are so many choices out there nowadays it gets a little confusing. Any links to some sites or pointing me towards a store would be appreciated.

TIA

Bought a nice rotomolded chest from an online restaurant store a few months ago. Performed well so far and cheaper than most similar ice chests. CaterGator is the brand I went with.

What activities do you want to bring the ice chest along for?

Coleman and Igloo "cube" type ice chests are fairly cheep and work the best for tailgating/beach if you are strongly leaning towards wheels

Tailgating and camping mostly. I do have one of the cubes and its ok, pretty bulky and the lid never stays on. I dont need a Yeti but would like that type of cooler.

Mainly just curious where the best deals can be had. If the answer is Ozark from Walmart Im good with that.

Here’s a good list of ones made in the USA. At the end of each in the list, it will tell you what models because some companies still source some to China.

The Igloo BMX series seems to me to be the best compromise between the ice keeping of the rotomolds and light weight of the traditional stuff. Love mine and iff I get something larger, it will be one of these.

Agreed. I have a couple and very happy with them. I abuse ice chests and these have held up well.

RTIC

Not cheap and big ones are heavy.

Best I have ever used.

I honestly don't care if it's hot pink with polkadots. As long as it's a quality chest and a good price.

Got one, but the latches won't stay closed now. They just slowly open. But so much easier to deal with than my yetis.

Coleman extreme. Holds ice as good as my yeti but weights about 1/8.

This one has worked its arse off for me. Think it was 115.00 or something. I guess you could get a more expensive one but I’m not sure why you would.
