I grew up with a guy they called three shot Lee, he shot three times even if the dove/duck died on the first shot.

They could be falling out of the sky and he's still shooting.

Used to love hunting with my Grandpa’s 1100. Actually picked up a 20g 1100 a couple of years ago. My 12g 870 was brutal shooting skeet all day.

15 years ago my 10y/o son was given a 20 year old 1100 by a family friend that had less than 1 box of shells shot in it. It is a 12guage 2 3/4"; since then he's killed deer, duck, squirrels, rabbits, doves, etc. with it.

i use other shotguns for ducks now but, wouldn’t hesitate to pull the ol girl out…

A Lt 20 was my first gun 35 years ago. Still have it and love it. My 8 year old gets to shoot it now. Many a dove and squirrel have been killed. Hopefully many more to come.

My grandpa, who died in 1977, had a Rem 1100 that stayed in the back of his late 60's Ford F-100 24/7/365. Never cleaned it and the only thing he changed on it was the size shot shells he put in it. I saw him kill deer, doves, ducks and quail with it just off the top of my head...

I’ve got a pre 1960 16 ga. 1100. Any idea what it’s worth?

My bad. It’s an. 11-48. The 1100 didn’t come out until 1964.

It was my first gun also. I received it as a Christmas present in either 1977 or 78. It belongs to my son now.

I also have an 1100 12 ga. My uncle won it in a raffle in the early 80s. He gave it to me a few years before he passed. It was a shite gun until Steinbergs figured out what was wrong. Can’t remember the issue though.

The LT-20 is in pristine condition. Through many duck hunts south of Abbeville at my Uncle Roy’s camp and countless squirrel and rabbit hunts in northern Tangipahoa Parish, I managed to keep it in like new condition. The gloss finish on the stock still shines bright. I never had a single malfunction over the years while putting thousands of rounds through it while hunting and shooting skeet. My uncle would buy 20 ga. by the case for me.

Buddy used one this morning and it jammed damn near every time birds came in. Misfired a couple times too. It’s an old one. Might just be worn out and/or need a thorough cleaning.

I got my dad’s 1100, he bought in the 1970s. Used it for doves, firing cases through it. Unfortunately used it for ducks and the Steele shot bulge happened, though got one of the class action settlement checks ($100 maybe?).
I didn’t know about the need for cleaning and never did. Never noticed an issue, guess I was lucky, for 10 years then one day it was slow to close when unloading. Spray of rem oil, good to go for a while. Cleaned it fully, all good. Again maybe I was lucky but never felt like it was a high maintenance gun. Moved to lead shot only shooting.
