You need to go on a good dog hunt with a good dog man and learn a few new tricks.

Where I used to run dogs as a kid, you'd have done that once...honest. Some green teeth would have beat you, on the spot, until your family wouldn't have recognized you.

That's your opinion and I have no problem with you thinking that. But it wouldn't hold water, or save your arse, if you shot one of our camp's dogs.

I'm pretty sure the pursuing wild game with hounds hunting philosophy pre-dated the box stand and 30.06 by several hundred years.

will judge him for using dogs. I have no respect for anyone that shoots a deer while running dogs. Congrats on hitting a moving target with a scatter gun

Dammit boy, you need to realize that all dog hunters don't shoot everything that moves. I don't hunt with them, and they screw me up sometimes. Sometimes they help me. But I sure as hell won't crucify someone for doing what they like within the legal limits of the law. Next time y'all have a convict get loose I want you to tell your buddies not to let the K9 loose on him, because that would take the sport out of it. Dogs are tools. Some people need more tools than others. That doesn't make it wrong. I don't agree with a man sticking himself inside another man, and I'll vote against it if it ever came up on the ballot, but I sure as hell won't cut his pecker off so he can't do it anymore. Relax and worry about your own self. If a dog comes onto your place go ahead and get mad, but it won't help a damn thing. Life is too short to get pissed off about stuff like that.

Never said it didnt. That way of hunting is as old as hunting itself.

People can run dogs while its still legal. Thats their right but sitting on a ridge waiting for dogs to run a deer by isnt any better than sitting in a box stand over a foodplot that somone else did all the work on. In fact, its worse because my box stand and foodplot doesnt come on your property and chase deer around

You must really hate deer to compare the two. Horrible analogy

Let me put it as clear as possible. I have no problem with my neighbor running deer dogs as long as they arent shooting at everything with hair and their dogs stay on their property. Im sure all my elders would take me to the woodshed on being against running dogs since thats how they were raised in S. La but its not a way I would want to hunt.

It gets them out of the kennel.
It's more sociable than sitting in a stand by yourself.
It get's them moving if the solunar tables ain't right.
It's fun to try and predict the escape routes.
You get to use CBs.
You get to road hunt.
Good excuse to speed down dirt roads.
You get to trespass.
We live in Merica
And the best reason is it will piss of FTF.

For people who care so much about the safety of their beloved hunting dogs they sure dont mind letting them just run wild

Careful there, chief.

Some will say there is not one good reason for you to go sit in a tree in the freezing cold to kill an innocent deer when hamburger and roast is much cheaper at Wal-Mart.
