Reputable outfitter for ducks/geese in Kansas/Nebraska
Posted by Choirboy on 4/29/25 at 3:14 pm
Title says it all. I’m looking to take some guys on a hunt in the Fall/Winter and would like some action on both ducks and geese.
Large honkers would be great.
I’m not limited to those 2 states so let it fly if you had a good experience elsewhere.
Thanks in advance

Spirit Creek Outfitters
Call Dean and tell him what you’re looking for in a hunt. He will be straight with you on what he can and cannot accommodate.
+\- $3500 for the hunt
Airfare to Saskatoon not included

re: Best Chocolate Lab Breeder

I have a black female out of Chief. Chief is the dog bleedpurplengold linked previously in the thread. Do some research on this dog. He throws good pups that many owners and trainers across the country are currently bragging on. My 18 month old was a choc x black cross that yielded more black than choc. My best advice would be to find a quality pairing then get a pup out of that breeding no matter the color. If I knew then what I know now I would have taken my dog in baby blue with pink polka dots.

Please don’t just start shocking the dog.
Get a long check cord to ensure the dog comes back to you. Once you know the dog knows what “here” means you can reinforce with the check cord. After several corrections blend collar into correction while also using check cord. Lowest setting then move up slowly.
The E-collar can be great but can also be detrimental. It sounds like you’re frustrated. This is not where you want to be when training. Back up to success even if you must retrain sit to be successful.
Oh yeah, get those kids a dog to play with. Your retriever will continue to learn bad habits playing with kids.
Do t get discouraged. People on this board will help you but you have to listen to good advice and ignore the bad.

Or maybe try to concentrate these people to a quarantine area.
This comment seems to have been missed by the majority. Excellent work on twisting humor, history, and current events. You sir, could write for The Onion.
The irony of these actions compared to Hitler’s ideas are not missed by all. This is egregious.

1. The dog needs a full medical work up to rule out any health problems
2. If healthy the unwanted behavior can be broken but most folks don’t have the heart for it.
No beating, cussing, or screaming
A muzzle placed on the dog 100% of the time when not in a kennel or confined space. When the unwanted behavior shows up it must be swiftly corrected. The degree of correction depends on the dog. After the dog can interact without negative behavior then and only then may the muzzle be taken off. This should be in a controlled environment with only people willing to be bitten. It’s a long an arduous process and success is far from guaranteed. This is one option to try rather than going to the irreversible option of putting the dog to sleep.

I’ve been at the camp all week and yesterday I passed down one particular road that has a cottonwood at the intersection of a Y in the road. JD used that cottonwood to rest his rifle to shoot a large hog some years ago.
I enjoy passing by that spot because he is always there with his rifle at the ready.
There are far too many memories and stories to tell but for some reason he is hanging out at that cottonwood any time I pass that way.

I know a guy who had a dog “die” in Lester’s care back in 2013ish. This is definitely not the first time this has happened.

The way the river has been acting you might want to invest in a boat.

Regarding watering...he has the manual check system. He was telling me checked it before every ride and of it sat more than a month he check the water. No corrosion on the cables at all when I looked yesterday. With that being said, I'm sure they make some mud gaurds, fender guards I could install to help with keeping water off the electronics
Good practice! If I believed him on this I would buy with confidence.

Sounds like a good opportunity but if it has been in a garage and left on charge without checking the water the batteries may be damaged. When I leave my camp I double check that the machine is not on charge. Even if it means I arrive to camp to an uncharged machine.

Water, check the water!
Water, check the water!
I have had mine for 3 years and love it. I have also been a nazi about making sure the batteries are full of distilled water. My batteries are still good 3 years later. The dealer I purchased it from said if you keep it full of water and free of corrosion the batteries will not be a problem. If you don't monitor the water batteries will be shot after 2 seasons.
I hunt in the hills of SW Mississippi and have never had a problem. As stated above hills, 4wd, big tires, and dense mud will effect battery strength.
As much as possible run in Mid Range 1wd. Only use 2-4wd low or high range when necessary.
I am super pleased with mine. Short story, I was easing around interior roads and came around a curve to see a turkey strutting in the road. I calmly stop, reverse, and get off to creep back up to curve. I peaked around to see turkey still there so I sit down and cluck a few times. 2 minutes later I was standing on his neck. You simply can't do that on a internal combustion engine. (At least you can't on our turkeys)
After that day as well as a few other experiences I will always be an owner of a EV.
Bad Boy and all the other competition isn't even close in my book.
