I'd be willing to bet < 2% of Louisiana hunters hunt this way.

There are many reasons for me to be opposed to it. I won't convince you that I have good reasons just as you won't convince me to be ok with it.

If I don't have moccasins to wear, can I just use my Lands End slippers?

I go barefoot, but to each his own. On a side note, you ever wonder how a deer can slip through a palmetto thicket without making a sound, but pretty much anything else sounds like a herd of elephants?

Fair enough, if those are your boundaries, good for you.

The problem I have is when some other "sportsmen" presume to sanctimoniously lecture other outdoormen (usually complete strangers) about the perfectly legal methods/game they choose to use/take.

the way most (if not ALL of us) "deer hunt" is not really hunting, its an ambush. not faulting anyone, i shoot deer by this method also. but the only true "deer hunter" i've ever met was from the northeast. he hunted in what they called "big woods": find tracks, follow tracks, watch wind, try and spot the deer before he winded/spotted you, and then get in position for an ethetical shot. you either learn how to move and work with ma' nature or your not going to eat deer.

I just figured its cause they are deer. Deer and mouses are quiet as a snowflake falling on cotton

I have wondered why they can see hear and smell better than me, run faster and jump high as giraffe nuts. Seems unfair that I am supposed to fairly hunt them without something to even the playing field. I say we get a dog on their arse

My .02:

I don't have any problem with someone killing deer within the law, dogs or no. That being said, I would give someone more respect as a hunter if they patterned and killed a spike on a wma. So this dude getting an article calling it a "week of a lifetime" and everyone patting him on the back for essentially assholing into 3 mature bucks is retarded.

I'm happy for the dude to put some meat in the freezer, but a big part of hunting is the respect that you get for having the skill to do something difficult. This dude does not deserve any attaboys for his hunting skill, just maybe a toast to his good luck.

Dog hunting is for the uneducated who dont have enough land to kill their limit of deer every year and choose to run deer off others properties and kill the deer as they cross the roads.
Oh and its legal to trespass and kill deer cause the dogs cant read posted signs!

The difference between coon squirrel rabbit and birds vs deer dogs. Those dogs are trained and work in a contained area with the hunting group
Deer dogs are starved, most untrained and released with hope they can be caught before its too late to buy more beer at the store

People trespass while hunting without dogs all the time. That does not mean hunting without dogs= trespassing. We have stand hunters around us that shoot every thing that moves. or stay on stand an hour after dark and shoot. There are outlaws and Aholes that participate in every form of hunting. Whatever kind of hunting a person does, he should obey laws and not interfere with others' property rights.
I have seen rabbit, squirrel and coon dogs cross over property lines just like deer dogs. We have people around us who turn rabbit dogs loose during deer season and run all over the place. That does not mean rabbit hunting is wrong.

I would bet that all of you saying dog hunting is easy have never been.

I dog hunted growing up and we kill way more deer still hunting and thats with dog hunting on same property.

I dont think you should dog hunt small properties but other than that if its legal have at it.

Dude if this is meant for me you are barking up the wrong tree. I'm all for dog hunting and killing by whatever means are legal.
