Gonna use some Christmas gift cards and probably purchase a new rifle. Currently I have the following calibers:
.22
30-30
30-06
300 win mag
26 nosler
7mm-08

Debating between these:
22-250
243
44 mag

Would use new gun for probably hogs and getting my kids used to shooting.
Anything else I should look at?

A .223 in any platform from bolt action to AR is not a bad choice. Plenty of cheap ammo out there for the kids to burn at the range. Hogs aren't picky either.

Depends on what and where you hunt.

I've always been an 30-06 guy because I hunt woods/bedding areas.

Long range or if you have a chance to hunt bigger game 7mm Mag or 300.

I'm shooting a 300 SAUM this year, it's pretty sweet and doesn't kick

Two that I have that I absolutely love that would be very good for pigs are ar-15 in .300blk and an ar-10 in 6.5cm.

I will be building a 6.5 grendel at some point but I can tell you that a 6.5!is very easy to shoot. My ar-10 has hardly any recoil. My son (he’s 11) loves it.

With those choices I would go with the .22-250 or a 300blackout

Looks like you have good coverage on the rifles. Why not a nice pistol?

If a rifle is a must get an AR platform in 300 black or 308.

22-250 , 25-06, 222 remington, 257 Roberts

Roll your own. Those are the choices I would do. You already have a 260 so leave the 243 out.

25-06 is an incredible round. 120 grain bullet packs a wallop with very light recoil.

22-250 is one of my favorites. I would have recommend a .243 but the 7mm/08 kind of covers the kids shooting part depending on age and the 22-250 would cover the gap if they are not old enough to shoot the 08.

Thanks for the responses. I think I'm leaning 22-250 right now.

.22-250 would be my choice given those stipulations. It’s a very fun caliber to shoot.

.44 mag would be better for shooting pigs at normal range and is available in some cool lever rifles if you like those.

might i suggest 204 instead. I own both.. as well as countless other calibers. And my 204 is my favorite rifle to shoot. Will do everything the 22-250 will and you can actually see impact through the scope. Amazing range and accuracy

Go 300WSM if you want to spend about the same amount in bullets to sight the gun in as you do on the gun and scope
