You need a .38-55 WIN. Four of us got those when Mississippi first went to modern primitive. We killed well over 50 deer with them and never lost one. Not sure I even recall a miss. Mild recoil. Get the Buffalo Bore ammo and limit shots to 150 yards.

.38-55 is something that I’d really like to see make a comeback. I’d love a new lever action in that caliber.
