Have y'all seen Thomas Crooks', Trump Shooter, rifle setup (via the FBI)?

apparently, the reason for the broken stock is due to the 300 win mag that went through his face.
the rail system is definitely an Aero Precision. i can only assume the rest of the gun is from Aero Precision as well as i don't think he would be the type of person to build one.

Magpul (maybe) canted sights

I’m not a big gun guy, but if you’re going through all that trouble to attempt an assassination, why would you not have a scope?

It looks like the back of that buffer tube/stock caught the bullet as it exited Cooks head/neck area.

Same reason you'd have canted sights when using a 1x red dot? He probably didn't really know what he was doing if he actually set a rifle up like that.

I mean, as a backup sight in case your red dot goes down without having to co-witness. I mean it's stupid if you're setting it up just for the Trump attempt, but not that odd.

He was thrown off his high school shooting team because he was a bad shot. He almost made a one-in-a-million shot, for him, if Trump hadn't turned his head.

It's a DPMS lower with an Aero Upper.
Technically the "firearm" (aka the serialized lower) is a DPMS.
James Reeves also has a video. He estimated the entire rig was abour $1200.

Because there are way more red dots on call of duty than there are scopes
I’m sure it’s because he wasn’t a big gun guy, and probably thought he’d be able to shoot just fine with a red dot.
I’d bet he punched some holes in paper that led him to believe he didn’t need to spend money a scope.
As much sense as it makes to have a scope on an AR, I see a lot of people that just have red dots on them.

Completely depends on the use of the gun.
I have several ARs with scopes and I guess just as many or more with red dots.

I keep hearing how people think he barely missed…but how do we know what he was aiming at? I would think aiming at the chest would be the way to go so I’m guessing he flinched, pulled it high and left and missed his mark but still got an ear. So he was barely on paper at 130 yards.

In the pics he clips trump on pme ear and there's a second pop on the other side. He was either going for headshots or consistent but off target.
I just realized something on the other rifles I have a white dot on the opposite side of the flip up on the hand guard. Red dot fails? Flip up. Flip up broken, white dot. At that point it's just a paintball gun. You're aiming without sights.
