I’ll be spraying glyphosate tomorrow and drilling my plots Thursday and Friday. I’m a few miles SE of Pattison.

Just planted our food plots last Friday and had a good rain on them Saturday. This was in lower Concordia parish. Used Buckbusters blended seed. They are out of Vidalia, LA.

I used the same with some added crimson and white clover. It has come up nice.

We got another good rain a little while ago in SW Ms. The plots should be in good shape with more rain coming this weekend.

I got 70% of my planting done last weekend before the rain. Going to haul but up there Friday at lunch and plant Friday afternoon and Saturday and hopefully finish everything before the rain on Saturday afternoon/evening!

Looks like perhaps the fronts are starting to line up for rain. Hopefully it works out for everyone

I use several different weather apps and the most conservative forecast calls for an 80% chance of rain this weekend (highest is 99%) with predicted amounts ranging from 2.25" to 3.5" of total rainfall.

Based on recent experience I say there's a 50% chance of rain and I don't expect much more than 1/4."

If we get the rain forecasted for Sat night/Sun morning it might be too wet Monday.

Mine are coming up already. We planted last Saturday. This will be the first time in a while that I wasn’t worried about rain after planting.

Anyone who hasn't got their plots planted before this weekend's rain is a rotten egg.

edit: maybe not. with the amount of rain coming down right now the seeds may have found their way into a nearby creek and on the way to the mississippi river.

We planted Thursday and Friday in E Feliciana. Perfect rain midday Saturday, then got 2.5" about 12 hours later. We shall see if anything washed out. Tried to get everything as clean and level as possible without a cultipacker.

Trying to decide if I should fertilize on Friday. Rain isn’t a guarantee in Port Gibson but there is 30-40% chance.

My question is if we fertilize and do miss the rain, would morning dew do enough to dissolve the fertilizer in the soil? Thoughts? We have to fertilize 34 acres of plots so it’s a chunk of money that I’d like to not waste.

Biggest issue is if you don't get rain (i'm north of PG and it looks sketchy at best for rain) you likely will loose your nitrogen to the atmosphere and it's likely the most important for cool season grasses
