Let a nice one go yesterday. Figured if he survives this year he could be special next year.
Exactly. Hallman was great with Brett Favre at Southern Miss but was terrible at LSU. Those were some dark years that most of this fan base didn’t experience. We would go to a game and leave our 4 extra tickets on the windshield and when we get back to the car after the game there’s 8 tickets on the windshield. Until I see Clark win at Vandy with a different QB, he’s just another Hallman. No way we should ever consider him for our coaching position.

We spent 5 days on Lake Como this spring. Stayed in Varenna at the Hotel Royal Victoria. Had a room that overlooked the lake. Right across from Bellagio. Varenna is smaller than Bellagio but much quieter with less tourist traffic. Easy to walk to the ferry shuttle and go anywhere on the lake. Had a great time and will certainly go back.

Same. No note issue but enjoy putting that check into the account before deer season kicks off.

re: flying with firearms (shotgun)???

Just made a trip from BR to Idaho with my rifle for an elk hunt. Precheck your gun in the case with the agent at the ticketing counter. No reason to have the case checked as they will verify that the gun is unloaded. I did have my ammo in the case with my rifle. It was in the original box so there was no issue. We did the exact process for the return leaving from Salt Lake with no issues. Once they inspect and have you sign that the gun is unloaded there will be a form you sign and that is kept in the case. Then lock it using all holes. I did use TSA approved locks. Everything went fine, no issue with my scope once I arrived.

ML Leddy’s in Fort Worth make excellent handmade boots. I have a pair of Ostrich skins that are some of the most comfortable I have ever worn.

Just planted our food plots last Friday and had a good rain on them Saturday. This was in lower Concordia parish. Used Buckbusters blended seed. They are out of Vidalia, LA.
We used Ryson Roofing several years ago. They were responsive and easy to work with as well as did a great job.

Hotel Jackson is great but a little pricey. Snake River Grill good for dinner. Beautiful area. Used Jackson Hole Anglers for a fly fishing trip (drift boat). Had a blast.
Just a heads up. I was out in the yard this morning and noted the swarms of sod web worm moths. Stopped and sprayed Talstar all over the yard as well as the shrubs as I was in the process of my monthly mosquito spaying.

Rusty’s Riverfront isn’t bad and Beechwood has a decent steak. Other than these few places not much I was ever excited about in Vicksburg.

You will be hard pressed to see either country in only 8 days but that is at least doable. In my humble opion there is no way to see both countries in 8 days. And I would agree with Dingle and Galway and add in Killarney. The music in the pubs in Galway is a blast..

You can’t kill the big ones if you always shoot the little ones.

re: New Deer Rifle

I have a Weatherby 7mm PRC that I just used on a successful Elk hunt but it will not be going on my whitetail hunts this year. It is an incredible gun and i have taken it out to 1000 yards at the range. Light with no recoil and drives tacks However for deer I have been using an old Remington 742 Woodsmaster .308 for the last 50+ years and it never fails to deliver. I can't remember the last time i had to attempt a shot at a deer in Louisiana at over 150 yards. Ammo is plenty and not expensive. The ammo I am shooting in my 7 mm PRC is 3X the cost of the .308.
I installed a Mitsubishi last year and it is a game changer. Garage stays cool and I can work on my cars in the garage in the summer without getting soaked with sweat. Little impact on our utility bill is the most pleasant surprise. You do have to keep the filters clean. I also insulated our garage doors so that helped as well.
