Really thinking about adding one to my truck for tool storage. I am a pool builder in N Houston and I am tired of the tool bags and such sliding around. I do have a locking rolling bed cover now. If Decked is added, would likely add an ARE topper as well. Just looking for feedback on those who own/owned the Decked system?

Just added a secondhand ARE camper and decked system to my 2500. I love em. Took forever to find the topper in the right color but the price for both was worth the wait, ($800 for the camper and $500 for the decked)

The deck systems are awesome, adding one to my new setup soon. Worth the price!

I have one in a single cab Tacoma. It holds all the stuff that would normally clutter up my interior. I mainly use it during hunting season to hold all my gear. For a contractor like yourself, it would be invaluable. I usually take mine out during the summer so I can haul coolers, chainsaws, and firewood that I wouldn’t want visible (coolers/chainsaws) that would be easy targets for thieves. It takes up so much depth in my bed that it’s more of a hindrance when hunting season is over. The initial installation takes a few hours, mounting brackets and setting it up to be level, but taking it out and putting back in is quick. I also have a topper that I’ve never installed, but it along with the decked system would be awesome. I bought mine new, open box for like $650 a couple years ago and have no regrets. Full price for my use would’ve been a hard pill to swallow. I’ve never had any water intrusion issues in the drawers either. If you decided on down the road that it doesn’t work for you..they hold their value and are easy to sell.

Only downside that I hear people talk about is that the drawers don’t slide all the way out and you have to reach deep for whatever is way back. Never been a problem for me, it’s just how it’s designed so it can hold all the weight. You can load it down heavy in the drawers and on top. It’s tough as nails.

I built mine from 3/4” marine plywood and have a ARE topper as well. Have about $200 in the drawer setup. I will add some pics tonight, but if you are handy it is well worth to do yourself.

I dont really like mine

Not much room between deck and camper top.

Also loading icechest up there is a pain now.

Tempted to break it down to a half size before i sell it.

I've seen some very nice ones that were polyurethaned and built custom under a topper. Mine is exposed to the elements, it would be trashed in a month of sun and humidity.

Love my decked system! Had it by itself for. 6-months then added and ARE top. Worked great in both scenarios. The only minor drawback is getting heavy items up on it from tailgate; but the pros far outweigh the con. If you get a top, get side opening win-doors.

I'm loving mine. My truck is really tall so I just didn't want to be climbing in and out and the DECKED System is great.

If anyone isn't aware DECKED gives a 20% military discount. Last year when I bought mine it was around $1200 and I got it for $980. Just FYI for those military folk out there.

I had it on my old truck and loved it, for the most part. I wish they made a shallower version for when I carried coolers, kennels and larger/taller type items. I felt like I was advertising everything I had in my truck then, and always felt like if anything wasn’t strapped down properly or gave for any reason it would roll right on out if something happened like having to yank the wheel. But other than that, it was a great storage system.

I have one and camper shell. Overall like it. Main con for me is the loss of headroom when I sleep back there. I get the most use out of it during hunting season. Like someone said as a contractor, seems like a no brainer.

i had one on my last truck and loved it. I had a camper top and put a full bed slide on top of the decked to be able to get ice chests and stuff out. expensive setup and a pain to install but i miss it. Will probably do it again on my next build. Loved it for hunting and fishing trips.
