I don't have experience with Otter Creek but all reviews I've seen are very good.
I have the polonium k on a 16” and I use it without hearing protection and it’s fine. Have a full size polonium coming.
At this point, I’m more concerned with getting it hearing safe vs max noise reduction. It’s not worth the trade off to me vs cost.
And I really like the OCL design with a standard nut connector….gives you a place to wrench it off…IYKYK
The Rugged Occulus on a 22 and a Wolfman on my Scorpion scratches that maximum quiet itch.

Anyone else have similar issues with the bx-25 or -15 mags?
Same here with the bx25…took it apart and tried the yt video tricks, no luck. The bx15 works fine, but I bought a 3 pack of 10’s and just use them. They never fail (so far). I won’t be trying anymore 25’s

I have the 10/22 charger with a folding brace, which looks to be basically a twin to the sbr 10/22.
Mine has a Rugged Occulus suppressor on it. The Dead Air Mask is another good option. You don’t have to spend Occulus or Mask money on a 22 can to get quiet. My charger runs fine with subsonic rounds of all different brands and grains.
My favorite round that I use is the Cci quiet segmented rounds (710 fps). I did change out the bolt to the Volquartsen firefly 2.0 that has been mentioned. The factory bolt wouldn’t cycle the 710’s. I had a buddy trying to get a regular 10/22 to cycle the 710’s by just changing the spring and he couldn’t get it to work. One thing to note is that the Volquartsen bolt recommends staying under 1050 fps.
Looks like the sbr also comes with the BX trigger. My charger didn’t, so I bought the BX trigger. It’s definitely an upgrade.
It’s definitely my favorite suppressed firearm I own and it is stupid quiet and more accurate than I thought it would be. It’s taken more than a few squirrels (at very short distances - those 710’s fall off really quick). You will love it.
It would definitely be worth waiting until one of your local silencer shop affiliates gets enough information/guidance to just 4473 a suppressor. Takes away all the hassle of setting up a trust and anyone you want can possess/use without you present.

I’m way out of my element here in this thread, but putting together a few BCM’s currently and have been trying to catch Scalarworks BUIS in stock and they finally have complete sets available.
Just in case anyone else has been trying to find them.

I am fortunate to have made it to the final stage of a hunter. I am no longer compelled by letting the arrow go or pulling the trigger. That’s for the younger ones. I have 50 plus years of killing to look back on.
I don’t want it to be like this, but I think I am too.

Sore lasted a week, and another sprung up 2 weeks later. That one spread a wide bright red circle on my beltline and swelled up a lymph node. Itch and pain... Benadryl and ibuprofen got it under control in a couple days. Didn't have to call my doc.
Not trying to scare you…but I just finished a round of antibiotics for Lyme disease from a tick just like you described (had bad flu like symptoms, too). It was bad enough that I went to the Dr.
Lyme disease can cause some serious long term issues if not treated. Doxycycline was the antibiotic.

I’ve been there since I picked up a few micro dagger slick mags. 15 rounds and have proven to be 100% reliable…and I’m one of those who normally wouldn’t use a non-oem mag.
My Shield is retired in the safe.

imagine having/paying for a Single Shot Trust per NFA item ($25 each time) that you own vs a normal gun trust that can house all of your NFA items. you can add RPs to a normal gun trust via a trust amendment and getting it notarized. you take them off the same way.
Single shot trust allows the owner to add anyone with a simple form that is notarized too, but that person doesn’t have to go through all the fingerprinting/registration with you know who.
Edit to add that silencer shop also sells an unlimited single shot trust for the same price as a regular trust ($129). You pay once and every new item gets a single shot trust.
That said.. I wish I would’ve set up a regular trust from the start. I thought one suppressor would be enough. :rotflmao:
re: Anyone use and can recommend a GPS dog collar?
Posted by RoIITide on 3/10/26 at 10:27 am to SouthernInsanity
Dogtra Pathfinder series.
I use the mini series on my beagle. You can set up a fence with your finger on the app and fence in an area however big and cut up you want. It also has a couple of options where the fence is a certain range of the gps connector (I haven’t used them, not needed for me).
The mini collar battery will last pretty much all day when the fence is turned on.
It’s way cheaper than Garmin stuff, but Garmin is the gold standard with all my buddies who use hunting dogs.

Bama and Beer has just about put me in the poor house with this thread (in a good way)…I would just like to add a pretty good deal knife related.
Midway has the Benchmade Mini Bugout in Daybreak Yellow for $124.99. I’m relatively new to knives that are this expensive..but I picked up 2 of these a couple weeks ago and can say that I really like them. Kinda small, but for a edc pocket knife - not bad.
LINK
Edit to add…thank you Bama and Beer and all others who contribute to this thread!

If I may…losing a/multiple close game(s) during the year is easier on the stomach than getting your shite pushed in a/multiple times a year.
How in the hell do you coach up a team to beat multiple top 25 teams and then get the hell beat out of you? I admit that Oklahoma choked the playoff game away (just like Bama choked the regular season game away).
His teams are too soft which is a reflection of him. That won’t work in the SEC. When you have 0, zero, ZERO run game in the SEC…you are fricked.
I do think he is a good coach and hopefully he will get it fixed.

Dadgum man…that hits hard.
He’ll tell that story after you and I are long gone.
Absolutely.
22lr reliability issues are way overblown (imo). I can’t remember the last time I had a failure to feed or fire.
I almost exclusively use any 22 from cci in my rifle/pistol.
If I dedicated a 10/22 for home defense, I would load it with CCI Mini Mag segmented 40 grainers. Those segmented rounds are bad to the bone. I have taken beavers with the “quiet” (710fps) segmented load. I have a boatload of the segmented mini mags and the CCI stingers.
