I spoke to someone who knows him well and there are still some murky details, but supposedly, he walked into the ER in Thibodaux and said he wanted to donate his body. He went into the bathroom and placed a suicide note and his ID on the sink and then shot himself with a pistol he carried with him. Allegedly, the note says something to the effect that “the person I killed was an accident”

His friends are speculating he may have killed someone with his truck, but no officials have released any information.

This is terrible. I’ve known him for probably 30 years. He always had a smile on his face. He was a truly nice person and a great ambassador for the fishing and hunting culture of South Louisiana.

the only things you have accurate are the location and the method. None of the other stuff is in any note. It was just depression from the stresses of life. No skeletons and nothing weird. I'm his son in law and know all the details. just to set the record straight for yall

Heatwave I heard the news this morning from a friend who knew what happened without speculating. I kept quiet about it in respect to the family. I to lost my dad to suicide in '94 so I know what your family is and will be going through. Y'all are in my prayers. Tight lines in Heaven Tony.

Lost a close family member several years back to suicide. It's tough on family and friends left behind. So sorry for your loss. Tony seemed like a great guy and I really enjoyed his FB posts and videos.

Depression kills a lot more than it's given credit for.

Praying y'all find peace and comfort man. You can see by the replies in here that those who met and knew Tony have good things to say about him, myself included. I recall more than one occasion when he would walk into Grady V's to have lunch and buy a round for three of four guys at the bar. Just out the blue. He was that kind of guy...at least every time I was around him.
