For you guys closer to Hammond/Covington, Tangi Tactical in Ponchatula is $20 for the first and $10 for each additional transfer on the order. Really nice guy too.

Brought a 1911 to them to have some parts added Beavertail grip, magazine release, and thumb safety. Long story short the couldn't fit the grip safety and the mag release was not fitted properly. You had to jam the mag in to get it past the mag release. They tried to tell me it was normal. I laughed. Brought it to Jims and had their smith's fit it correctly. I will never go back in that place again.

These guys are super easy to deal with. They have their FFL on file with many of the bigger online gun shops so you don't have to get them to send it.

His place of business is on Cedar Park. Might just get stuffed shipped to the Highland Road address. I had something shipped to him a couple weeks ago. His storefront is across from the Honda Dealership next to Wrapture, vinyl wraps.

FWIW, I've used Bart probably 6 or 7 times now. Never had a problem. Took the time to accommodate a buddy of mine who had a unique situation (time/travel).

Tax on CC seems acceptable. Not on cash.

How difficult are they? From this side of the counter it looks like 10min max of paperwork and then file it away.

My local went up from 30 to 35. I get awesome service there but kinda feel like I'm getting had for a few minutes of paperwork.

If they ever "close the gun show loophole" you can bet we will all be paying those fees to get the background check and paper done for private sales.

5 min max. longest part is you filling out the form. ive mastered the E-check and can input all the info in under 30 seconds.

this time of year, counter is always full, so management doesnt want us wasting time doing transfers for chump change when we could be making sales on guns w/ add-ons. i could see the benefit for smaller stores that just sell guns (which are not high margin items at all), but not for a store like Bowie's
