If she will entertain the idea of another breed I’d recommend a Bichon Frise

Where are you located? We got ours from Lake Charles area I believe (or Santa).

However, I do not recommend the breed. Ours is mostly house broken with the occasional accident. However, she is incredibly annoying/needy/yappy.

No. They’re housebroken, they know the rules, they’re just little bastards that deliberately chose not to follow them.

We got the wife and kids a maltipoo.

Smart as shite. Doesn't bark ever. No shed. Got a bell on the back door and it rings it to go outside.

I really wanted to not like the damn dog....aggravated when they got it.

She's awesome. Sitting at my feet right now. Glad she's ours.

Might I suggest you look at a Cavilier Spaniel? Best little house dog we ever had. Needs some exercise, but a good walk will take care of that.

Cavs are awesome but the breed has some significant health issues. A well bred Cav that won't die of heart disease before it's 8yrs will cost you over $2500 with a wait list over a year.

OP how about a little rescue pup? Company for the lady but less work/already house trained past the puppy crap. LINK

This is true. We’ve had two and both died at 9yrs old.

Sweetest personality though.

Get a small mixed mutt at the pound. They are usually smarter dogs.

I have a Cocka-poo (half cocker spaniel, half poodle) he’s the smartest dog I’ve ever had he’s a lot smarter than my lab. and doesn’t shed. Weighs about 18lbs.

I call our yorkie “little lord fontlerot”

But I gotta admit he is quiet, smart, and disciplined. The dog is better behaved than my finished gun dog trained lab.

Also he’s a cute lil fricker

If you find one go the show dog bloodline route, otherwise they gonna have spine issues. They’re too small

Toy poodle fwiw. Smart, easy to train. Can be a Velcro dog though.
