re: Sulfur smell from hot water faucet
Posted by Bionicknee on 7/29/22 at 11:17 am to PeteRose
Had the same problem some years back. 40 gal electric.
Traced problem to to low temp setting. Solution:
turn off water supply drain tank. When empty close drain valve, Disconnect cold water inlet and pout in 1 gal of clorox. Reconnect cold water line and fill tank with water. Open hot water faucet farthest from tank and run until you smell chlorine, close faucet. Do same with all faucets and let sit for 4 hrs. Drain tank, refill with fresh water and flush lines thru faucets. Turn on heat source and set temp at 125f min. This solved my problem. Anode had nothing to do with smell...

How many hrs on machine. Close to 100 or over adjust valve lash. Valve lash to loose = hard starting especially if it runs good after starting.
re: Deciding on a new mower, recommendations needed

Google Spartan mowers and read story. Replaced my 54" JD Z810 commercial after drive motor destroyed itself and cannot find a replacement motor because JD had Parker build special unit for just for them then just three years later discontinued the whole line. I replaced it with a a 54" Spartan with a Kawasaki mtr late last cutting season. Only cut with it a few times and really like it. I cut about 4 acres. ps JD parts are stupid high!!!!

Bought my kids the Outdoor Edge with the replaceable blade and it worked great. We did find that the replaceable blade could be resharpened with a cheap Smith ceramic sharpener from wally world. Never bought new blades

Terry's tractors is on Flannery road at Victory Church. Most of the tractors are in the big parking lot behind the church. He usually has very nice low hour machines..

Might I suggest you look at a Cavilier Spaniel? Best little house dog we ever had. Needs some exercise, but a good walk will take care of that.

re: About to be a first time dog owner on Monday. Any advice would be appreciated

Your GF is extremely smart and proves it by getting what is considered one of the best breed of dog around. We had one for 14 yrs and was absolutely the best pet/friend we ever had. If it bonds with you you might forget your GF. The only downside is that they are so affectionate they do tend to suffer from separation anxiety. If you leave them alone all day be ready for go crazy welcome home/where you been/you know I been here all day by myself/ I'm ready to go out and play.
Take care of it and it will provide you many years of enjoyment...

re: Anyone pulling a 5th wheel jayco with a 1/2 ton?
Posted by Bionicknee on 4/7/21 at 5:57 pm to Old Sarge
I did. 27' Wildcat with slide. 2011 f150 SC Ecobost short wheel base with heavy tow package, Superglide sliding hitch and flow thru tailgate. From stock only thing I changed was tires and added set of Super springs . Truck came with P rated tires which are car tires and sidewall flexed which made truck hobby horse. 10 ply Firestones took care of that. Springs added to level as truck went 1" past level, was ok, I just didn't like it. As long as trailer brakes are set correctly stopping was fine. Never had to panic stop. Truck was made to pull and pull and it did. FYI anyone looking for Superglide and flowthru tailgate hit me up.
re: Boat Advice
Posted by Bionicknee on 3/25/21 at 1:08 pm to Coach72
You are to be admired for wanting to get the kids involved in the outdoors, BUT, there is no such thing as a forever boat. As your kids get older and interact with other kids doing other water based activities you will want/need to have something different. ie: water skiing , wake boarding, tube pulling, etc. With children as young as you have a day fishing can be as stressful an activity as you can get. You will learn a day with them is all about them not you and mom. Leave all your stuff home and enjoy everything you have to do make the day enjoyable for the kids. Do this and you keep them take a doing things with you for a long time. Been there and done all that.
