I’ve never liked rap. But even I can tell the rap from 30 years ago was much better than this shite

Rap isn't necessarily a bad choice because unlike rock, there's a ton of collaborations and guests on rap songs, so you can feature one artist, and surprise the crowd with a bunch of cameos.

Unfortunately, Kendrick isn't that type of rapper.

This is why it fell flat. The previous rap shows have had cameos to keep the crowd/audience in and engaged.

This one just had Samuel L Jackson as Uncle Sam making random comments. Too narrowly tailored.

Halftime show needs to be an entertainer and more than just a good musician or lyricist.

If you are going to go with a straight up good musician or lyricist, you are going to need a few cameos to keep people engaged.

Why do you think I said Iron Maiden? Have you not ever seen one of their concerts?

Rap for the SB needs theatrics and gimmicks and guests and crowd pleasers, and yeah, this was not that.

Just pick someone fresh off a stadium tour every year as is tradition and itll be fine. Tswift, Rolling Stones, Coldplay, who cares.

You can’t please everyone but that type of act fits the setting and is accustomed it.

You have to bring in someone who appeals to a young audience. NFL is after a young demographic that includes women. Kendrick may not be your cup of tea, but he's HUGELY popular with anyone under 35. Dude has a Pulitzer.

I think T Swift would be probably one of the best to attract a wide audience and make them happy.

Go back to collab performances. I loved that Britney Spears, N Sync, Aerosmith, Run DMC show back in early 2000s. Of course I was young. My Dad probably hated it lol

I wouldn't mind some "classic" band like Green Day, Foo Fighters, Metallica etc mixed in with Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo, Eminem etc
