I'm in the market for one. Right now I was looking at the Toyota Rav4, Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage, and Hyundai Tucson among others. Don't need anything fancy or a top of the line model. One with decent gas mileage, trunk space, one that's comfy, and drives well.
What do yall suggest?

Just bought a Mazda cx30 for my daughter. All the safety features on even the base model.

Oh well, my recommendation is out, you should have asked what our favorite compact CUV was for our butler's assistant.

I just bought my daughter a new VW Tiguan... Definitely look at one of those if you're looking at these smaller SUV's and avoid the Kia at all cost..

Our daughter drives a Mazda CX30 as well. It's fun to drive and the interior is fantastic.

I’ve been seeing a lot of Mazdas around here. They look nice and people seem to like them

We bought a buick envision a few years ago and it's been a great little suv. One of the best riding cars I've been in.

Those Buick Envista's look pretty cool imo. No idea if they are worth a shite though

Surprised to see Mazda get so much love. But they've always been fun to drive.

Subaru Forester is worth checking out.

My daughter has a Hyundai Santa Fe. It drives and rides good, but the engine has issues. Unfortunately, they are just outside the recalls. They replaced the engine once. The new engine failed, as did the one that replaced it. It's running now, but the check engine light has come on yet again.
So...I would mark them off the list.

I've got a relative and a few friends that drive Sportages. From everything I've heard they get great gas mileage, roomy, safe and excellent tech packages. If I were to get a compact SUV it seems like a great value for what you get.

One of my best friends has the CX-50 and he raves about it. I do see Mazdas everywhere so I guess they're well thought of.

Have you looked at a Subaru Outback or Forester? They are great cars and compete with the RAV4 and CR-V.

Underrated brand in this segment, though the secret must be out with all the other responses suggesting the brand.
