I bought a Toyota Corolla Cross three months ago - non-turbo/non-hybrid 4 cyl - CVT - it's slightly smaller than the RAV4 - I love it - drives well - drove it to Slidell round trip 1400+ miles - 38 mpg Interstate - around town 35-36 mpg.

At one point, the CX-5 was 60% of Mazda's sales...maybe still is. Solid car. Mazda is becoming (after they got un-Ford-ed) the cheaper and 'as reliable' Toyota.
BTW...not well known...the bigger CX-50 uses Toyota's 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, electronic CVT (eCVT), and hybrid system.
Non-Turbo Toyota/Lexus is almost a cant miss.
After that ...ahem....
Th GM 3.6 in their mid size SUV's is decent, EXCEPT for the mile-long timing chain is always a problem later...even with perfect maintenance.
Subaru's seem to be having problems lately.
I am almost convinced Nissan is going to make so much cash with the only decent non-turbo V6 small truck on the market and come out with a killer line up...or die.
Not that I am suggesting this one...but...I was in the same 'need an SUV ' spot a few years back. Got wife an Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Most amazing SUV ever; to include the X3. Alfa dealership closed a month after purchase, so did many others, and the brand collapsed in the US. Alfa's chance at redemption glory was blown. The car...103,000 and going strong. No problems. Extended warranty expires January 2027. Definitely not an Alfa of old; I am a car guy and am very glad we got to have a Stelvio. She loves the mid SUV thing -> probably a CX-5 incoming.

There are a lot of good brands out there. I am partial to Honda/Acura or Toyota/Lexus but that's just me. No matter which one you choose, though, go back old enough to get one with a V-6. I would stay away from any compact SUV made in America or Nissan, VW, BMW, Mercedes. Too many reliability issues.
My wife's CR-V rides nice, and gets great gas mileage. Great touring or highway vehicle. But my almost identical Acura RDX with a V-6 just stomps it on power and driveability in town. I do get about 4-6 mpg less overall than her though but it's worth it. I usually average about 24-26mpg overall and she gets 28-32 depending on city/hwy mix.

I can't imagine ever spending money on a ferrari/lambo/lotus etc SUV.
It's just a MUCH shittier version of what you really want. Why bother?

If you're taller than 5'-8" , steer clear of the CX-30. Maybe look at the CX-5 instead.
Be aware that Mazda, at least, seems to have swung totally opposite from their "Zoom Zoom" days. 'Sport' mode should be default and not other way round.

I had a Tucson, drove great. Never had any problems. I loved that vehicle. Sportage would also be a good choice as Hyundai and Kia are pretty much the same.

CX30 is a subcompact. I had a 2025 SS but traded it in as was just too small for anyone over 6'. Eas fun as hell to drive. Made in Mexico
CX5 is a compact. I traded in the CX30 for it, and got the 2025 Carbon NA flavor. Awesome in every way., and AWD is standard. Made in Japan. I am not a fan of the new 2026 that did away with physical buttons for a tacked on iPad screen.

I expect very few people own a Purosangue and don't own any other Ferraris. It is a way to keep someone in the Ferrari family. While Ferrari caps production of them to 20% of their yearly numbers (still has a multi-year wait list) Lamborghini went the other way with the Urus and sold more of them in the first 5 years than they sold total cars in the company's previous history.
Again, it is to allow their customers to stay in the family if they are a guy or gal that needs more grocery or luggage space than their 812 or 12Cilidri has and/or lives in a place with a real winter. I think one has to admit a compact AWD CUV with a naturally aspirated 6.5L V12 putting out over 700 prancing ponies is fricking cool, never mind they were able to engineer a slight rear weight bias.
